I went dress shopping and think I found the dress- Maggie Sottero Primrose- I LOVE IT
However I am nervous about what size to order
My measurements ar 36 (bust) 30 (waist) an 41(hips/butt). I am 5’7 1/2 inch tall and approx 135-140 lbs.
They are reccomending I get a size 12 – my bust and waist measure a 10 but apparently my butt is a 12. I am worried because the sample size was a 14 and it was HUGE, especially in the bust and waist. My past bridesmaids dresses were a 6 ( Monique lhuillier) and an 8 (bill levkov )
Do you think they will have a hard time taking the top? anyone have good experiences with having to take in a lot of dress?

I wouldn’t worry much about it. They would only order a dress that fits your measurements! 🙂 go with what they say.. congrats on the dress!

I wouldn’t worry. Dresses are taken in all the time (several sizes). I ordered a bridal 12 and am now probably closer to a bridal 8, bordering 6. so I think you are fine. Plus every designer is different. Some are street size, some are two or three sizes larger than your street size.
Order what will fit the largest measurement, taking in is easy but taking out is more difficult.

I wouldn’t worry too much. You can’t really compare what sizes you wore in past bridesmaids dresses bc they are different designers With different fits.
When you you get measured for a wedding dress, it is always suggested to order the size corresponding to the largest measurement. In your case, it was your bum/hip measurement. From what I know the hip measurement is the lost important measurwmt anyway as the hips are what holds the dress up right (not the bust which most people think )
in my case , I was advised to order between an 8 and 10 due to my waist measurement being the. Largest. I normally wear a 2 or 3 in pants so obviously I was shocked. I knew when I ordered the dress was going to be way big in the bust as the size 8 dress was made for someone with a size 35in bust and I was a 32. However, the dress fit pretty well
in the waist and hips,. It was sadly sagging at the bust biut I was prepared for that to happen Had I ordered a 6, the dress wouldnt have fit in the waist and I would have had to lose weight .
I would order the larger size if I were you. I mean, you can take a dress in, but it is a heck of a lot harder to take it out.

I’m a pear shape too and needed a size 2 for the top of my dress and an 8 for my hips. I ordered an 8 and they took in the top, it turned out very nice!
