So here I am in my unaltered dress.  Needs a nip here and tuck there as I'm trimming down a bit.  I like my dress a lot, but I'm having some serious second thoughts about it.

But I have a couple of thoughts and would like an impartial opinion...

    1)  Sash or no sash?

    2)  Should I sweetheart the neck?

    3)  I'm thinking about turning the chapel train into a sweep.

Our ceremony is in the middle of the woods, literally.  We have a .3 mile walk to the ceremony site in the middle of stand of old growth trees.  Then our reception will be at a log cabin lodge.

    Thanks ladies!

i love the dress! I would shorten the hem for sure for the woods! Maybe you gould make something for your flower girl with the extra fabric. I personally like the sash, i think it looks flattering. I also like the scalloped neck!

I would say sash and maybe look into doing a slight tuck at the neck to mimic a sweetheart. And you'll definitely want to shorten the hem! Unless you can get a piggy back ride from someone... Dress options : wedding dress Icon Wink

    1)  Sash or no sash?

I like it with the sash

    2)  Should I sweetheart the neck?

No, I dont' think so, it seems like it would ruin the pretty scallops.

    3)  I'm thinking about turning the chapel train into a sweep.

I really like the train- not sure what a sweep means though.  Couldn't you just tack it up for your tredge through the woods??

I would definitley change the train to a sweep train since your going to be walking through the woods. I'm not sure how I feel about a sweetheart neckline with the lace along the top. Could work.....I not very good at visualizing. As for the sash, were you thinking of doing one the same color as the dress or a different color? Is that the sash in the last pic?

Oh and your dress is beautiful! Hope this helps!

i vote for the sash too :)  and i agree with the others, I think the sweatheart will ruin the pretty scallops.

    good luck! :)

I think I'm in agreement with everyone else here! :)

The sash is great, gives your waist some really nice definition!

I would leave the top un-sweethearted... it's soooo pretty!

And maybe you could just bustle up the back for the walk in the woods, rather than chopping it off? If you really love the long length. But it sounds like your venue is more rustic, so maybe a sweep train would be more appropriate.

I like the sash - very flattering. And unlike the other bees, I think it would look really pretty with a slight sweetheart - not a deep, plunging one, but something to not make it quite so harsh. But that's just my opinion - take it or leave it. :)

I prefer it with the sash.  I would also leave the neckline as is.  I love the train and would be reluctant to change it.

I say sash too -- and I'd leave the neckline.  Looks beautiful!

I definitely think that while your train is gorgeous, you might want a shorter one considering your wedding is outside. I had the realization when i was dress shopping that a huge train was very impractical for my outdoor wedding, too. Hard to move in. I think the sash does great things for your figure, and also, I think a sweetheart neckline WOULD be very nice. Not necessary, but I really like how it doesn't make your chest look blocky, but gives women this womanly look. However, i'd make sure a seamstress could maintain the integrity of the scalloping for sure! Even if you don't sweetheart it, it's gorgeous as is

No sweetheart- I like it the way it is.

Definitely the sash- it really flatters your shape.

I had a train that was a little shorter than yours and I drug it all through the woods for my photos.  It got a little dirty, but nothing noticable to the casual observer.

thanks to all, very helpful feedback.  The sash in the pic is just a stand in, but I think I like the monochromatic look.

I'll have my dress fitting in a few weeks, so we'll see how it goes.  Dress options : wedding dress Icon Eek

    Definitely sash!!

A pinched sweetheart would look soooo good!

Love the train the way it is, but could go either way on that.

I think the general consensus is definitely sash and I have to agree. It help accentuate the narrowest part of you and emphasizes the hourglass figure! And I personally have to say NO to the sweetheart neckline.... I think it would ruin the beautiful lace detailing that you already have and be too much to look at and end up being rather distracting!

As to the train.... that's really just up to you... I personally like it the length it is so it'll be cheaper to just leave it =D

    Have fun!

I'm jumping on the bandwagon here: definitely go with the sash.  I like the the neck as it is.  As for the train, if it were my dress, I'd leave it long.  But it's not my dress.  I think it' would be lovely either way.

Let us know what you decide!
