Hey ladies! Over the weekend my bridal party and I went dress shopping (eek!). I was very nervous, because I am plus size and while I am losing weight and should probably be dropping another one (maybe two) sizes before I have to order the dress, I am really self conscious of my stomach, but loved fit and flare dresses. Be honest, is this too fitted for my silhouette? Just need honest opinions…. thanks!

@MissLibra: I think it’s a lovely dress and I LOVE the shape on you! I’m a curvier gal too and wore a mermaid for our wedding. It looks INCREDIBLE on your curves!

@MissLibra: Gorgeous! Full-figured or not you have beautiful proportions for that dress! Look at your little waist!!

You ladies are so nice!! The dress was a size too big, the consultant had to hold the back closed (this place had no clips, it was so weird!) but she assured me it would be more fitted in the right size (the area under my bust was sitting out more than normal and the hips had some extra material)

@MissLibra: I also think it looks great! Seriously, it does.

Looks great! Did you look at belts or sashes? I think adding some emphasis on your waist will make that hourglass figure even more killer!

While I do think the bodice fits you well and give you a lovely shape, I don’t like where it hits you and flares out into the skirt. To me, it make your legs look like they are super short. The way the fabric is swirled around your feet in the picture probably isn’t helping the short leg effect, so maybe if it was sitting properly/had a cirnoline to flare it out a bit more would look better.

You look awesome! I think that dress really gives you a great shape, and you look slim and smooth (kind of a weird adjective but it’s true!).

I think it is beautiful on you. Are you wearing anything under the dress? If you are feeling self concious about your midsection, I think the right pair of spanx or a corset would would wonders just to smooth you out and make you feel more confident. But honestly, I think you look great.

I was going to suggest a pair of spanx or a corset to slim/smooth you out and you should be good to go. I have heard that Spanx are sometimes uncomfortable to wear.
A bride on here posted about Rago Shapewear and she was plus-sized. I couldnt believe the difference it made when she wore the shape wear and when she took it off. If you’re concerned about that it might be something to look into!
