In my last dress post I was slightly regretting my choice. It’s a prototype dress that I bought at an outlet for 75%off and felt slightly pressured on the day and had a hissy fit so bought it. Not my finest moment!
Now I’m still not so sure about it. My Fiance is pissed off that I bought a dress so early anyway and when I suggested the possibility of another dress I was told that I’m ridiculous and he will be furious if I do get one. The dress is currently at my BMs house.
So here are some pictures of my dress! I’ve got the wrong petticoat underneath and ridiculously hgh heels on so I look like a giant! So please take that into account. Aso ignore my scruffy hair lol.
For the actual wedding I will have lower heels on.I haven’t had any alterations to this dress yet so this is how it fit ‘off the rack’.
I’m not sure wether to alter the dress so it looks more fishtail at the bottom, like the pronovias dress I’ve added? (the bottom of this is detatchable so I’m sure i’d be able to get the seamstress to achieve a similar look?)
What do you think??
The pronovias I love the bottom of:
P.S I just posted this in the wrong section so got rid of it. Thanks to anyone who voted before.

@MissC88: LEAVE IT! It’s perfect as it is – seriously it’s gorgeous, don’t mess with perfection.

I think it’s gorgeous!!! Seriously! What don’t you like about it? It looks amazing on you, the neckline is super cool, and the back is stunning.

I want that dress. Seriously. It is beyond beautiful. So, obviously, leave it!

@CatyLady: Thanks so much.
@lolot: I think it’s because the train is so small, I gt major train envy looking at other peoples dresses. It might be better with smaller heels and looks small since I’m tall (6’1 in those heels). Also I took my sister with me dress shopping, and she told me AFTER I’d bought it that it wasn’t a ‘wow’ dress like another one I’d discounted!

i think its beautiful as is. You could get it altered tighter in the thighs, and then wear a mermaid crinoline under if to get that look of the big bottom.

It’s perfect as is! I was expecting it to be really effed at the hem or something but it looks perfectly normal and perfect! It’s a truly stunning dress!

LOVE the dress! It’s gorgeous! Don’t change it.

It’s so beautiful and looks amazing on you! I wouldn’t alter it at all!

@nordicbride2014: Thanks so much ladies, it helps to know other people like it too. Particularly because it’s a protoype so I can’t seee anyone else with it on and it’s harder to be objective when it’s on you!
@cirk: Thanks so much for the suggestion. I was thinking of doing that but worry that it’ll take to much of the train away. I think I need to go try some fishtail/mermaid style dresses on for shape and see if I want to change mine.

Seriously, it looks GREAT on you. After reading your post, I was expecting something VERY different (lets be honest, I was planning not to like it) – I think it is GORGEOUS on you. It is your wedding day, so if you really like the bottom of the pronovias, you should look into it – but the issue here is definitely NOT whether this dress looks phenomenal on you. The issue here is whether or not this is the dress you want to wear on your wedding day.
Also, I don’t know if this will help, but here’s my mantra that I literally tell myself DAILY to keep myself from regretting my dress: A dress is not a soul mate. There is not one perfect dress out there for me. If I continue to look around, I will continue to find dresses that I like/look good on me. I found a dress that I love, would be happy to wear on my wedding day, and that is all that is important to me.

@FutureDrScott: That does really help, I can totally relate to that thanks. My friend said to me the other day ‘as long as I’m sure about the man then everything else will be fine’. I think she’ll be my voice of reason throughout this!

WOW that dress is BEAUTIFUL! If you really want a mermaid, you can go ahead and alter it, but I think it’s perfect as is!

I think it’s beautiful and looks amazing on you. If you altered the skirt I think you’d lose the lovely flow of the dress. I wouldn’t touch it.
