I picked $1000-$2000, because it came in at about $920, and I haven’t had any alterations yet!

I got 2 dresses made. 1 was 425 and the other was 99! I didnt want to spend a lot on the dress because it just seems like a waste of money to me but I will say i plan on spending $500+ on shoes!

I was trying to stay at about the $500 range but the dress I fell in love with was $1250.

I had a $1000 budget but found my dress for only $550! With alterations my total was $670.  I probably would have spent $1000 at the time, but looking back I’m so glad I stayed well under.  Alterations can be expensive!

Wow, I seriously feel bad posting because my dress is way more expensive and we completely blew our budget out of the water! My budget was originally $2000 for dress and veil and we went with a particular dress in mind that I loved and it turned out to be the one! However, my Lazaro 3819 was $5600 plus $8-900 for the matching veil, $220 for the shoes, and I havent bought my other accessories yet like jewelry and undergarments. Yikes! Let’s just say that Daddy was NOT happy at all. My advice is to be very careful when you look at designers and go in with a dress in mind because if you love it, it’s hard to look at anything else! We did get it at a trunk so we received a 12 1/2 % discount, which covered the tax plus a little. I do love it, though, and so does the boy!

Props to you bees that found equally amazing gowns, Im sure, but got it for a lot less! Please tell me there are other bees that went as crazy as I did??

My dress was just under $900 with tax. I have alterations left, which will come in under $200, so I picked $500-$1000 because I rounded down 🙂

Haven’t bought my dress yet, but the one I want is only $295 from AriaDress.

My budget is $2000, but I really fell in love with the one from Aria. It’s just really me. And it has pockets!

I am in the same boat as mrsmurraytobe. I had an original budget of $3,000 for the dress and $5,000 including everything. I ended up spending $5,200 on the dress, $1,200 for veil and jewlery, and another $150 for shoes and undergarmets. So I am at $6,550 before alterations begin.

I’m in the same boat as mrsmurraytobe and roxy821, haha.  I also had an original budget of $3000 (the max my mom was willing to spend, since was going to gift me with the dress).  I ended up falling in love with a $5000 Lazaro, plus $600 for the veil and another $600 or so in alterations.  My mom is still paying $3000 towards it, and I’m paying the rest.

My dress was $900, and alterations were another $175.  It’s San Patrick and I got it at a Pronovias sample sale.  The original price was around $1600.

My dress was within budget, under $1k – however, my alterations were most than I expected (I probably could have shopped around more and didn’t) and I needed coverage for the ceremony and couldn’t find anything, so something had to be made.  Total is closer to $2k, but it’s what I wanted and looks better than what many spend well above $2k, imho.

My dress was $2400, and then around 6oo for alterations (some were major- making a sweetheart neckline where there used to be big straps) and then $1k for my veil. For me, the dress was affordable, but the veil was a splurge! I couldn’t believe how expensive it was, but i fell in love and had to have it.
