Please don't feel bad. You have a dress that you love and that's what you should think about! I know it's easier said than done though. Can we see some pics so we can tell you how lucky you are?? :)
I agree with OttawaBride2011 - You have a dress you love! I never got that moment when dress shopping, and finally just admitted defeat and settled for something so I could be done shopping. Plus, who knows what the dress from netbride would have actually looked like, and then you'd be dealing with an anonymous online retailer, vs an actual bridal salon with employees you can talk to!
i see what you mean ottawa - im so not telling my mom about the cheaper price online though.....
heres a pic :) i LOOOVE this dress.
the first is the stock photo of it, the second is me showing the back of it.. (i have to special order a size thanks to the big girls! lol)
Beautiful dress - Is there any way you can go back to the salon and try to negotiate something after the fact? I know it's not ideal and they aren't really required to work with you on the price at this point, but you never know...they may be accommodating to you. Maybe there is some way you can get out of it....have they ordered the dress for you yet?
that dress is absolutely gorgeous!!! wow. i really love it. you are very lucky :) :) :)
yeah the dress has been ordered :( which is why i should have never looked online! mom had a fit that they were charging me extra anyway for alterations (which will be extensive since i had to order the bigger size 16 for the boobies and have the bottom under the boobies and down sized down to a size 8.... wonder if i could negotiate the price of alterations?
Definitely negotiate the alterations pricing. They should be able to do something for you on that for sure.
Yeah, at the very least try to negotiate the alterations. Hell, for the price difference I would ask that they provide you with free alterations. I would bring in your quote from Netbride to show them what they offered you. I would be upfront with them and tell them you are upset and feel like you were overcharged.
@tulip - oooh good idea and its the truth - i literally cried when isaw the price quote was so low. i felt like such a sucker. :(
Don't feel bad - bridal shops always jack up prices...it's the nature of the business! I really hope it works out for you. I am the same way about that kind of stuff and I get so irritated when I find out I paid more for something when I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere. It happens to everyone! But yeah...I would go in there and make them feel bad for you. $850 is a lot of money. They should do something to keep you a happy customer so you don't leave them with a bad taste in your mouth.

while i dont have any regrets about the physical dress i picked (i LOOOVE it) i wasnt given the actual order number of the dress until after i had signed the contract - i actually thought the dress was a marisa 802 but wasnt sure - it ended up being a marisa 700.
At any rate, out of curiosity, i put in a quote for netbride.com to see what i would have paid, and its $850 less!!!!
Now i feel totally cheated and ripped off...i should have never looked since the dress i bought is a done deal, but it really bums me out. i was in no position to negotiate price when i bought it since i was on cloud nine over finding the dress. now i am trying to make myself feel better by telling myself the dress would have not been the right dress or would have been a crappy copy, etc. but i still feel like crap..ugh.
anyone else have a similar experience?
