Mine was from an independent store (we don’t really have chains over here), but I paid 50% up front, and the rest will be paid when it arrives.

I paid in full up front.  I thought that maybe it would get me a discount (it didn’t).  But I just wanted it taken care of, and they said that it didn’t matter if I paid 100% or 50% at the time (balance would have been due when the dress came in at that point).

I just paid upfront with a credit card, that way if anything didn’t work out, I could always dispute the charge with the CC company.

I paid 50% upfront and the remaining balance is due when the dress comes in and I pick it up.

@MsGinkgo:  I got 10% off for paying in full right then.  I also took it home with me since it was off the rack.

I didn’t even ask what my options were for paying, because the total cost was only $156. I just paid it when I ordered.

I put down a 50% deposit and when the dress came in, I paid the other half

I paid a little over 50% ($300) when they ordered it.  Still waiting for it to come in. I’ll pay the rest when it arrives. ($259)

I had the option to do a 60% deposit but chose to pay in full on my CC.

Mine would have allowed financing or 50% deposit, but I came from out of state and they were shipping it to me directly, so I insisted on paying everything up front just to make it easier on everyone.

i went to an independent store in the US and had to pay 60% upfront.

then pay in full plus alterations before they would start the alterations.

Mine was 50% deposit to order, and I pay the the 50% and tax when I pick it up. I have I pay/pick it up within two weeks after it arrives. No problem – I’ll be at that store ASAP when I get the call!
