It depends on the dress. Do you have a picture of the dress? Because certain dresses would need alterations to convert from A-line. There are mermaid slips and crinolines but those wont necessarily change the dress to a fit a flare look

Yes, I think alterations will be your best bet. It’s a fairly simple process of just taking on the seaming a bit at the thighs. Just ask a seamstress! Then, crinoline to your hearts content with your new shape!

You would have to have the dress tailored to drop the tight part down to your theighs.


Edit: Just saw your picture!  That dress is stunning as an A-line.  If it were me, I’d just fit it tightly through my hips, drop waist style!  I think it will be beautiful no matter what you do, though!
