So here is the dress I bought. It was only my 2nd time dress shopping. The price was right (half off), and it was flattering but I’m not sure if it’s “the one”. I think I really liked it initially because it is flattering and fit well, but now I am not sure if I am “in love” with it.
I had previously tried on Allure 8713 at a different store, but the sample they had at this store was TINY and I couldn’t fit in it.
I am so tempted to buy the allure 8173 because it keeps sticking in my head, but I am reluctant to spend the extra money.
Am I crazy? Do I really need to “love” my dress?

You need to love the way you feel in the dress. You might need to try on the other dress to figure this out. Otherwise you’ll build up the Allure dress in your head and the one you bought will never measure up.

I think you look beautiful in the dress. I don’t think a bride has to love it but they have to feel comfortable in it. Perhaps try on another few dresses and then review how you feel. Good luck hun.

I actually really like your dress! I think it looks great on you! If you can’t afford the other dress, I wouldn’t tease yourself by trying it on. If you really like it, that would just make things worse. I say stick with this one, it looks beautiful!

I agree with bm21022, if you can’t afford anotherr one, don’t even try other dresses, you’ll end up getting more confused and even upset. If you think you can afford the other one, definitely try it on and see if you’ll really like it. You’ll stop having regrets probably, if you still like the Allure one better, go for it!

Thanks everyone for all the input! I really appreciate it.
I do like how this dress cinches my waist and it is comfy. I don’t really want to buy another dress as my entire wedding is over budget. The only way I would get another dress is if I could sell my current one.
@katsupgirl: I think I am building up the other dress in my head. Its making me go insane!
I might just try on the dress again (when we go to get bm dresses) to assure myself that I don’t need it!

I really like it too!!!! I had dress regret until I went back in for a fitting. The pic of me in my dress was not very good but when I am actually wearing the dress I feel great!!! So I deleted all my pics and just think of the memory of the feeling I got with it instead. I think this is very very common and you look very beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very very beautiful!!!!!!!

If you can reallocate funds and afford the Allure, I would go and try it on. However, if it means breaking your budget, maybe you can try to find a less expensive designer who can do something similar.
That said, I think the dress you bought is beautiful and beautiful on you, so you definitely need not worry about your purchase. I would try it on again if you can and pay attention to how you feel when you first take a look in the mirror. I think these kind of dress anxieties are very normal. I had them, but every time I put on my dress I knew I made the right choice. It just felt right.
