I am a LONG TIME lurker but this is my first post. I am feeling a bit of dress regret. I never thought this would happen to me because I LOVE my dress (or, I thought I did). I love the neckline and the simplicity, but now I feel like it might be a bit too poofy. I am wearing a hoop in this photo because without the hoop the dress kind of hangs there, the hoop gives the dress a bit more shape.
Also, the dress I own does not have that flower.
How did you guys cope with dress regret?? In my heart I know this dress is right for me, I am just having doubts. It may be because I spend too much time looking at everyone’s lovely dresses on wedding bee!

have you tried petticoats rather than a big hoop. Give it some shape, but maybe not quite so much poof?

Yes, I will have to explore my “poof” options at my next fitting haha. I am just hoping this dress regret is temporary and will blow over. I literally LOVE this dress. I just don’t know why I am feeling this lingering sense of regret.

If the only thing you don’t like about the dress is how poofy it is, that’s a super easy fix! There’s a zillion crinoline/smaller hoop options out there that will make this dress less poofy. No worries!

You picked that dress for a reason, and it looks great! Don’t second guess yourself. Yes there are a lot of beautiful dresses, but you can only wear one!

It’s beautiful! I had dress regrets too! But after it was altered to fit my shape it looks amazing on me! Your seamstress can definitely lessen the poof. It’s a classy dress though!

I think it’s stunning and maybe it’s just cold feet with the dress! Follow your heart and u will look back and be happy… promise. Maybe try to get rid of a tiny poof… but I still like it with it too

I TOTALLY REMEMBER YOU. i would NEVER forget a dress like that!
I am dealing with dress regret too… every time i put on the sample of the one i ordered and am waiting for – i LOVE it. but every time i go look at a picture of me in that dress, i cringe at the shape & poof. I’m deciding to get a second dress but this is definitely not what i am telling you!
Just try your other poof options with crinolines slips petticoats what have you at the next fitting and repost some pictures. But this dress blows me awayyyyyy. I so badly want to try one one!

Thank you so much, ladies! You guys are making me feel so much better! I wanted a dress with drama and impact and (now that the awful flower is removed) the dress does just that! You reassurance really helps, though!! I guess every bride feels a bit of anxiety about what she will wear on the biggest day of her life!

That dress is awesome, all I would say is get rid of that awful flower, but you already did!

@Lt.Columbo: haha i know! isn’t that flower awful?? It is covered in tissue paper in the photo — and honestly, that is for the best. the flower is the WORST. I told my seamstress to please make sure that awful flower wasn’t on my dress when i picked it up hahaha.

I went to my first fitting and the dress is so, so so much better. I wrote a quick write up with pictures here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/first-fitting-9
