Bees, I have been trying to chill out and not think about this, but I can’t keep it in anymore. I feel like I made the wrong decision on my dress. I LOVED my dress when I bought it and thought it was totally perfect. I wanted a backless dress with straps…I got a strapless dress, which is fine, but the back isn’t nearly as backless as I thought it was. That was SO important to me because I have no chest at all and my back is the only kind of sexy thing about me. The other thing is that I think the dress makes me look fat. And I want to cry because of that.
Stupid me didn’t even LOOK at the back before I bought it because well…I thought this is what it looked like:
but this is what I look like in the back of the dress. (Don’t mind the crooked bow, I need to have them move it.)
Is there anything I can do besides not eat for the next 40 days to make it look better? I feel so sad thinking about this dress, which is SO unfortunate because I’ve absolutely loved everything else about the wedding planning and lead up.

The only thing that looks weird about the back of the dress to be is the very first lace on the corset, but that’s not because of you, it’s just how the dress is shaped.
Maybe you can talk with your seamstress and see if the first set of ties can be removed? [I don’t know if they can be, it might be required to hold the dress up properly, I’m just throwing out ideas.]

I think it’s very pretty! I also liked low backs and had my seamstress put in a zipper instead of the lace-up back. Do you think she can add that?

cynbarr: Can you have alterations take out the first corset hooks at the top. That way the corset laces a bit further down, you can lace it a bit tighter then too to get more of the low back you are looking for. I hope that makes sense. I know what I’m thinking just having trouble putting it into words.

You are not fat! That belt is not hitting you in the right place in front And needs to be adjusted. It will look so much better when it’s on your waist.
your back looks sexy, and that dress shows off your Pippa Middleton:-)

cynbarr: I think the belt needs to be tightened and straightened at the front. The way it sits at the moment, it is making you look like you have a belly, when you don’t.
I agree with the others about removing the top row of hooks from the back and working from there. It might even be possible to remove the corset back section entirely if there’s a lot of boning on the dress or if it can be added.

Agree with PP. The front of the belt needs to be lifted a bit, right now it looks droopy . . . you don’t look fat whatsoever!!
Maybe it’s the angle of the picture, but does the dress on the model have a corset back? It looks like a zipper to me . . .

Can you not just alter the back to a deep v (and just have the zipper stop at your waist)? As long as it’s tight enough in the waist, it’ll stay up. You look gorgeous, btw.

cynbarr: I love the back, looks totaly lovely and sexy and I would let the back be, because it is perfect. It is not like that back of yr inspiration – it is BETTER – has this lovely flirty look.
I am not mad about the belt in the front but other than that you look lovely and not fat at all. You must be crazy to think you are fat and the dress fits you so well!!!

Yeah I didn’t get the “not eat for the next 40 days” comment because you don’t look fat at all.

1. You are not fat. 2. Your back is not the only sexy thing about you…it’s obvious from this photo that you have MANY attractive features. 3. Normally I don’t advocate buying a second dress, but if this goes beyond thinking you could replace a pretty dress with an even prettier dress, if you actually cannot feel beautiful in this dress, I think you need to get one in which you do!

NurseMandie: jenilynevette: I’m not crazy about the first row of lace either, and the dress can be done up without it. I’m going to see how it stays on without that 🙂
JWF11: I don’t know if she can put a zipper in but I will find out. My only worry with a zipper is that if there’s any sort of weight change, it won’t fit, and I flucuate a lot (for me) depending on that lovely time of month.
Tinatiny1: clairebbbear: you’re totally right! The belt is in the wrong place. I didn’t notice that when I tried it on, I just thought “this looks weird” and that I looked like a have a round stomach. That will have to get fixed! Thanks so much for pointing it out.
emstar168: The model is wearing exactly the same dress as me. Her corset just does up all the way – that’s what I was hoping for as well (hence my don’t eat for 40 days comment, so that I could be skinny enough for it to do all the way up).<br />
AnnaVictoria: You’re so sweet 🙂 I wish I could see it how you do.
