Hello fellow bees!
So I bought a dress with my mom and step-dad. I have never seen my step-dad light up the way he did when I walked out in this dress. I had an exciting feeling when I tried this dress on. I was between the one I bought and another one. It was the second one I tried on. I thought I would buy more of an A-line or ballgown but I bought a fit-and-flare (I think). The day I bought the dress I was excited. However, I was curious so I showed my fiance 15 dresses and he didn’t like any of them, but my dress his comment was the worst! Ever since I have had dress regret. I have looked at other dresses and LOVED them. I tried it on a second time and felt excited but when I look at the pictures of me in it I don’t think I like it. UGH! I don’t know what to do! I am really close to showing my fiance and asking him his opinion. What do you think? HONESTLY?

I think it looks great! It gives you a great shape and really shows your curves. Its very unique.

I think its a great shape for you.
Honestly, pictures NEVER show the dress the way it is in person. I looked at the pictures my mom took of me im my dress, and i look FAT and ugly lol. She assured me its just her horrible phone because i looked amazing in person.
So dont beat yourself up. When you are all dolled up it will look amazing.

Did you show him pictures of you in the dresses or the dresses on models?
My DH did the exact same thing, his comment was “that dress just doesn’t look like you” but I loved it and didn’t think twice about the comment. On my wedding day, he could not stop talking about how amazing the dress looked and that it suited me to a tee. He couldn’t actually picture ME in the dress and not the model. You will have your hair/makeup done and be glowing in your dress and it will probably NEVER even occur to him that you showed him a picture and he hated it. He will LOVE it on you!

I like the top half, but I dont like the bottom half at all.

What was it specifically that he didn’t like about this dress? As PP mentioned, it may just be the way it fit the model.
This dress looks slammin’ on you, and he’d be a fool to think otherwise!

Ok first if you showed him the dress on a model then disregard that comment because I think the dresses that look awesome on the models look terrible on me and the strange dresses that look terrible on the models look awesome on an “actual” body.
I love the dress! Its sexy and it shows off your sexy hips!

I love love love this dress and it definitely looks great on you! I especially like that it’s got a little something special to it. My dress has some tears of the fabric on the bottom that make me feel a little special. I think you’re dress has that special feel too! Good luck!

@BonitaFloresD: good, because that dress is GORGEOUS on you!!

@BonitaFloresD: HONESTLY, it’s not my personal taste (I don’t like the tiers on the skirt or whatever you’d call them, but love the upper part of the dress), but you look good. In crappy pics.
You’ll look great all dolled up in the pro photos.
Who is paying for the dress? I would tell your fiance ‘You remember when I showed you that dress? Well you had a rude comment and that was the one I bought and now I am freaking out’. I bet he will apologize and change his tune. Things look different in pics and on other people etc. If I were you, I’d trust your step dad’s judgment and keep the dress.
This is a bit of a first world problem. You’ll be wearing the dress for a few hours. People have said you look good. I think you look good. Relax.
Edit: Just saw your update. Glad you’re sticking with it!!!! You look lovely.
