Your dress is beautiful.  What’s your problem with it?

They look really similar! Find a good local seamstress. Mine was really honest on what could and couldn’t be done.  BTW, that dress looks very, very pretty on you!!

Oh my God, when I first posted, I thought your dress and the one in the picture were the same dress, haha.

Like the above bee said, the two dresses are very similar.  I think it should be an easy fix.  just gather the skirt of the dress more towards the back to give it a more mermaidy look in the front and give it more fabric in the back.  I think seamstress will be able to fix that right up.  =)

Hems are extremely easy to alter. The only alteration my gown actually needed was that I didn’t like how much the underskirt showed along the scalloped lace edge of the overskirt. I was able to hem it myself for free.

For this, I’d still take it to a seamstress to help you with the gathering, etc., but I don’t think it will be inordinately complicated, or expensive. I would go to an independent seamstress, though, rather than someone affiliated with a bridal shop, just because I’ve heard mostly good things about independent operators and mostly complaints about bridal shop alterations departments, both on quality and on price.
