I cant sleep ): had a discussion with my fi about my dress which he accidentslly saw a while ago. I eventually became ok with it and didnt say anything abt it. Til today when i sold my first dress(i had two) and showed it to him before i started packing it for sending. He admitted he didnt like the corset look and embellishmentson the dress he saw ages ago. Now i now hes a boy and what does he know about fashion – nevertheless it made me sad ):
I have the belle217c. But always lusted after the vera wang white (kim ks wedding dress). Always. Before i got engaged.why did i not get it in the first place? Well i live in qld australia and its hard to get it here ): i have relatives in the US who i just asked whether they can buy and send to me. But still, the uncertainty is keeping me awake.. Wedding is exactly almost a year away so i reckon ive got enough time..
Makes me want to sell my dress i have, go to US and get it myself. But its not practical. Sigh. Just thought id share since im lying here awake anyway, i need to tell somebody…
Ps sorry about the grammar/spelling mistakes- my ipad is stuffing up and i cant re edit my sentences…

Even if your relatives can’t send the dress to you, you could try having Jasmine’s Bridal Shop or Dressilyme make a replica for you (and for much less than the original dress).
However, I do think that Belle 217 dress is gorgeous and I am confident that if your fiance saw you wearing it that he would love it, so don’t stress over that. Get the dress you love the most, because the dress matters more to you than it will to anyone else.

get the dress you love!! this is the only chance you can spend a vast amount on a dress so, make it the right one.!! i’m not too keen on the Belle217 but thats because there is way too much going on.
If you decide to sell it try on more than the vera wang to make sure you get the right one because you don’t want to be the same situation again.

I agree, get the dress you love, you have quite a lot of time still to make sure it gets to Australia in time for alterations, etc. Does your FI not like the one you sold, or the one you still have?

@peonyinparis: He does not like the dress i have. Him seeing the one i sold triggered his memory of when he saw the belle accidentally and then admitted he didnt like it ):

@princessggg: Have you checked on eBay? I’ve seen a few VW White ballgowns there, and most sellers will send to Oz. 🙂

I had dress regret too! I couldn’t sleep and literally cried every night after I bought the dress (in November, 2012). I had an anxiety attack 5 minutes after we signed the contract – so bad. I loved how the dress fit when it was on and everyone kept telling me how gorgeous I looked and the whole store was chiming in so I figured it was the one. I couldn’t get over the fact that this isn’t the dress I’m supposed to get married in, it’s not the one I always dreamt of (even though I never pictured a specific dress) but this dress wasn’t me. I wound up buying a new dress in the beginning of January, and I’ve never been so in love. I want to wear it everyday, and I can’t wait to put it back on. I stare at the pictures of it nonstop. It’s a completely different feeling!
If I hadn’t bought a new dress, I would’ve regretted it every single day until my wedding, and probably forever after that. Go with your gut instincts!

I luckily got hit with dress regret while I was taking it off! So the (16 year old!) consultant was PISSED when we got to the front and only bought the bridesmaid’s dress for my sister!
But I’m SO happy I backed out last second. I could not imagine a dress more perfect than my dress!
