I also already have my shoes and veil for my dress... and they may not match because my dress is diamond white and the other dress is champagne.
I like the first dress more. a lot more.
how much is the 2nd one? like what would be the price differences?
and why do you have to put a corset in the first dress? Your weight isn't going to change.
I love your dress, it looks great on you! Stick with what you have. =]
I love your current dress. I actually saw it earlier in a different thread and thought the top was so stunning and different. Dress #2 just looks like it can't decide what style it wants to be, too much going on!
i would stick with your dress as well - its beautiful and i dont think you need to add a corset i would just wait and do your alterations closer to the wedding date! i'm so surprised to see this post because i know how much you love your dress. If you were to buy the other dress what would you do with your dress now?
No offense but I think the second dress is ugly...and looks like it's been cut horribly. Sorry, that was mean, but to make up for it I really like your dress! Keep it!
@MissHighHeel: my weight changes horribly. =( I just don't want to be in for any big surprises on the day of the wedding. The dress is $400.
@totheislnds: I have no idea. lol I'd probably keep it if that's not the strangest thing ever...
I like dress #1 better. Stick with that one. And if you're worried about the cost of alterations, skip the corset back. I doubt your weight will change drastically between your fitting and your wedding day.
@Bichon Frise: Very true... I think I'll try and put the alterations off as long as possible. I know I need the sides and top taken in and the bottom hemmed and the bustle added and with all the beading I think it's going to be over $1000 with just that. I will have to go without the corset.
Thanks for talking me down bees LOL. I was so close to putting the order in for the dress. I will keep my dress and shoes and veil and deal with the alterations when they come. You ladies are the best!
I agree, I love your dress a lot more. I do not really like the second dress, and agree the bottom of it looks like it was cut wonky. I think you can rock that first dress like none other.
There is something uniquely appealing about the second dress so I can definitely understand your draw to it. That being said I think your body looks fantastic in your dress while the assymetry of the second dress might not hit you in all the right places.
I vote to stick with what you have. :)
@Treejewel19: I have been losing weight so I'm nervous about my dress not fitting right when the time comes. My dress is a 12 but I will be about a size 6 or 8 by then so I hope it still looks okay =/ I'm terrified! lol
@HappilyEverAfter54: Well besides me completely hating you at this moment....LOL! I think with such a dramatic difference you are running the risk of a near complete reconstruction.
EDIT: Okay so you don't have a corset which means yeah you are going to need some serious alterations at this point. We are talking 3-4 sizes different. My advice would be to stop losing weight! :P
You look amazing in the first dress. And dress number 1 is out of this world georgous. We all have different styles I know but i'm so fussy about dresses and can honestly say that I love the first dress.
I am not so keen on the second dress sorry. Or hopefully if your not offeneded by my opinion and I hope you don't mind me saying I don't really like the second one. The second one looks fussy and things don't quiet go. Where as the first one is just right and so special.
Hope I haven't offended you. At the end of the day though It's your big day and it's what ever you will feel happy and most confident in. I say just go for it pick the one you love the most :)
@Treejewel19: LOL I erm... gained 60ish pounds or more when my ex FI and I split and I've felt really bad about the way I look ever since. I want to feel pretty and confident with cameras in my face and of course on our honeymoon wearing a bathing suit for 7 days =D
@Clarice: I'm not offended I asked what people thought I would never be hurt by what people feel unless they just told me without me asking lol.
Aw, I'm sorry to hear you're having regrets! I love your first dress and think you should keep it--very flattering and happily-ever-after-ish. :)
I LOVE your first dress. The second one has way too much going on...
I also had a similar isse once I saw this dress but it's since sold so that problem is gone.

The only thing that kept me from jumping into buying this one was the bridal feel was missing for me... but I had such bad dress regret AFTER it sold because of how sad I felt it was gone that I felt I needed to ask about the dress I posted here earlier. I'm glad I did ask you all though... I feel better about my dress.

I'm having dress regret/doubts all of the sudden!
I don't know if I should stick with my dress that's already paid for which was already out of our budget (I do love it) but it needs quite a lot of money in alterations...
Or should I buy a dress that costs next to nothing and needs very minimal alterations which I also love...?
I think my biggest thing is the corset (which I thought I didn't want but now I'm having nightmares my dress will be too big or too small or the zipper will break on the wedding day...) getting a corset put into mine will add the total cost of this other dress onto my already huge alteration bill. On the flip side though my FI may freak out. lol. I might be able to get away with the case that this other dress plus alterations will cost less than alterations on my dress.
I wish I could wear them both =(
