wow, that was a very exciting post to read - seriously had me on the edge waiting for the outcome!
so your keeping the ella rose be62 but just the non beaded version? i prefer that dress - its beautiful (although i do like the beads btw but im not the bride!)
congrats on surviving all of that and coming back to the same dress... kinda
your poor FI... heheheh, he will never understand :0
congrats!
very nice post. almost educational:) happy for you ... reaching the feeling that the dress you had chosen was indeed the dress - is amazing. what a relief!! And no, FI will never understand your (/ our) dress tribulations. hope the rest of your planning goes on smoothly.
i'm glad that it is slowly all working out. i am now waiting to hear back from the bridal salon about the wedding gown. they are letting me exchange but i am going to be attempting to talk the price down as two other salons in all this craziness have said they sell the dress for $200 less!
Anvil chick, I'm so happy for you! It sounds like it's all working out perfectly.
I wonder how many of us have gone back to try on dresses only to realize the original was the one? That is what I did. Trying all the others confirmed why I loved mine in the first place.
heard back from the bridal store i orginally bought the gown from... the grad dress version that is. i've been emailing around to other stores, and after who knows how many emails and phone calls they have finally agreed to lower the price of the wedding gown for me :D WAHOOO!

thank goodness for mom's that can keep their bride-daughters mentally sound and calm. i dont know what i would do without my mom.
as several of you know i have been debating about my dress, the dress that i have sitting in my basement, its private label by g, ella rose, be62.... well sorta, i have the grad dress version, what does that mean, well no train.
i wanted a dress without a train for as long as i can remember, or so i thought. and i always wanted a plain and simple dress no beading no lace non of that. after going to several stores and trying on many dresses i finally had it down to one thanks to my mom, my auntysocial, and my moh, and one of my bridesmaids who all came with me. everyone loved the dress... i thought i did too. but recently i started to have regrets. the dress is sitting in my basement i havent even visited it and looked at it (until today).
i finally had a big break down, infront of my fiance, all about my dress. the poor guy tried to comfort me, but of course i couldnt really explain to him what was wrong as i didnt want him to know anything about my dress. i emailed the store and they gave me several options. 1 exchange the gown loose some money get another dress/take your money and run, 2 buy material and make a detachable train, 3 we'll take all of the beading off for free, 4 buy a veil that is cathedral length.
4 wasnt an option as i have a veil i love and have worn around the house for fun. 3 sooooo not even an option to take the beading off as there will be little holes all over the top of the dress from where the beads were sown on (confirmed by a seamstress and a few other bridal shop workers.... side note: i had asked the day i bougth this dress, before paying for anything, is there any way to get this dress without the beading. and was told no no, we'll just take it off. what they failed to say was that yes there is a way, if you get the wedding gown version they will make it without beads just for you! EPIC FAILURE! GRRRR! still makes me angry) 2.... have you seen the dresses with detachable trains? my mom had one on her dress, but that was back in her day (sorry mom lol, you love me right!) and she even made her own dress mad props to her. but all the dresses otherwise that i have seen with this i hate! loath, despise, and abomanate... how is that for stong words (pardon spelling mistakes). so that left me with option 1.
this morning i was supposed to wake up at 6:30am to work at 7pm, well that didnt happen. i suddenly woke up at 3:30am panic striken and upset. i went on the computer and tried to relax via facebook boredom, but then i started to look at wedding shops in my area. i emailed a bunch of them (10+) to ask if they had my dress, if they could order my dress if they didnt, can i get it without beads, how much, if you dont have this dress, do you have something similar... blah blah blah. i think stores know a bride is upset and desperate when she sends an email in the unheard of hours of the morning. i got quick responses from several places. all quoting the wedding gown version of my dress at a much lower rate then the store i went to (and am now considering exchanging my dress through).
this afternoon i went to one store in the area told them what was going on and asked if i could just start all over. they quickly went to work to help me find a couple dresses to try on i ended up with eight or so. all simple, or if they had beading they confirmed that you can order the gown without it. one dress stood out from the rest, its very similar to the one i owned and that was hanging in my basement at home. its from jai bridals style 9999. very similar shape to my dress, little deeper and rounder sweetheart neckline. but this dress looked great. i asked them to write down all the info for me and told them i'd be back. i came back with my mom this evening and showed her the dress, tried it on all over again, she loved it too. the lady at the store was very helpful and very understanding of the fact that i am sort of torn between two gowns now and was not pushing me at all to make a buy, (thank you for that by the way if you ever read this! i will always recommend your store from now on!)
mom and i went home and agreed that i should try on the basement dress. away i went and put on the dress came up stairs and what would you think happened....
ITS MY DRESS!
well sorta. i love the dress style i have, that was confirmed tonight. but we will be going back to the store and exchanging it for the wedding dress version, without beading on top! so come january i will have my dress back in my hands.
to all of you that are having doubts, concerns, regrets about your dress. talk to someone, have them help you lay out everything you wanted in a dress. i needed the trick of going and trying on dresses and then trying on mine to confirm that it was the dress for me and that yes i do still love it.
