Which one is which? Is the first one the one you own? I like that one better. It really is flattering.
I'm assuming the san patrick is the first one, the one you already own. You look incredible in that dress! Hands down the better choice.
@PuntaCanaBride: I agree that dress looks like it was made for her!
Can I be creepy and ask if the photo of the first dress was taken at novelle bridal in Edmonton?
The first one, the San Patrick! Youre a knockout in that one!
EDIT: BTW, what tummy are you talking about?? I dont see it! The ruching is super flattering! Love your new body girl!
First one is Peralta, I own it already. Second is 2123.
And...to the creepy question...Yes the pic was at Nouvelle lol.
I shopped at novelle! I love it there. It's a small shop buy they have a great selection and the staff are super wonderful. Hope you had as good of an experience as I did. Ps. I love the first dress
Ok. So Peralta I agree looks AMAZING from front and back. It's from the side I am worried about. I will have to take a photo for you all to see!
2123 is just what I always envisioned I would wear down the aisle. Like I got choked up and was like, "This is my dress!" I was all by myself when picking out this one, I wanted to be sure it was my own opinion!
Oh definately, the girls there at Nouvelle are wonderful!
Ahh this is so frustrating the one I like...no one else likes! Is it horrible or unflattering? Or is it just in comparison to Peralta? I am also having a vintage with a rustic touch theme to my wedding if that helps. I feel more like a southern bell in 2123.
The first one looks amazing on you. If you're really worried about the tummy just wear some spanx or a corset or something. I'm sure it looks fine though!
K, here are some photos of Peralta from the side (you will see what I mean when I say Im self conscious):
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say I like the 2nd dress a lot more.
Both are nice, but the 2nd is so beautiful in my opinion.
wow I really suck at these dress comparisons, I thought they were all the same dress.
I see your concern with the first dress, but I'm not completely convinced (at least with these pictures) that you wouldnt have a similar problem with the second. The ruffles seem to start fairly low on the dress and the dress has a similar silhouette.
I dont think you could go wrong either way, but from your response, I feel like you really want the second. go with your gut.
If you carry your weight in your tummy and you don't want that emphasized I'd suggest a non-mermaid/trumpet fit.
Of those 2 I suppose I prefer the 2nd for you, just because you seem to love it so much, but they both look like they hit you in a about the same place in the tummy area.
i still like the first one as far as the way it looks on you.... i'd pick that one still in a heartbeat.... i think you should invest in some awesome shapewear that's returnable and try it before you decide against this dress....
that being said, you obviously prefer the second one, so of course if you are that in love, then you should go for it....
however, if i were to be truly honest, i actually think your tummy looks worse in the second one... :( it stops RIGHT below the curvature of your belly.... i think if you are really self-conscious about your tummy, then look for a similar dress to the second one that fits more like a drop-waist (which would start the skirt a tad higher up but still allow your curves to be showing) or even try some near-natural-waist stuff.... there are a LOT of dresses that look like the second gown if you look around--i know you'd find one that hit you in the right spot AND has all the princessy flowy sparkly qualities you love.... :)
if your having dress doubts then buy the other dress, sell the one you already have and go with ur dream dress, its only once so dont worry just do it,
I think people are voting for the first dress based on the first posted photos, (honestly I LOVE the first dress from the front and back,) but I also think the second one is SO flattering and like you said, princessy! Your wedding day should be about you feeling GORGEOUS, as we all deserve to feel, so if you are going to be self-conscious and worried and "sucking it in" the whole time in the va-va-voom dress, ditch it and get the other one. You should be comfortable... it's YOUR day! ;)
I really like both dresses. I think the dress you own is lovely and that you should keep it. You truly look like a princess in both dresses :)
They are both such lovely dresses and my personal style is the 1st one (I just love mermaid/trumpet dresses) BUT I think the 2nd is very flattering on you, I love the sweetheart neckline and think it flatters your bust area, and your waist and hips look lovely in it too as it still shows off your curves, I love dropped waist dresses I think they are very flattering. I also think dress no 2 looks better from behind! Having said all that you look amazing in no 1 too! If you love it go for it, you can always sell the 1st one as it is a stunning dress im sure someone would snap it up!
I hope I voted right....The first dress is the one you need! Its so much more flattering and beautiful on you.
I still really like the first one but if you feel self concious in it then it's not your dress. On your wedding day you should feel the most beutiful you've ever felt, not worrying about if someone is looking at your stomach. So if you love the second dress and it makes you feel amazing then I say go for that. It is a really beautiful dress as well.
If you want something to cover your stomach the Snow White dress would do that, it was actually my first choice but I ended up having dress regret, selling it, and buying another dress because I wanted something that was a bit more form fitting. But if you want to hide your tummy (not that you need to, you're certainly not big but I can see why those side pics bother you) I would go try on Snow White again.
Or what about trying on your current dress with spanx on underneath? They can do amazing things for your stomach!
before i even read your post, i liked the alfred one much better! i say start by advetising your first one to sell and if you sell it soon or start getting offers, take it as a sign that you were meant to get the alfred!
I like the first one better, but I can see your concern from the side picture. I personally think you look amazing, but I have the SAME hang ups as you ( andI look practically identical body wise, weird.) and I know I would be uncomfortable in it too.
The Alfred Angelo one isn't very flattering on you though...don't hate me! It is hitting you in a spot that highlights what you call your "trouble area". A dropped waist is not your friend when you are wanting to hide tummy area. #2 would be perfect with a natural waist. Personally I'd keep looking. A natural waist, a fit and flare ( with some rouching along the mid-section) or heck even your princess dram gown that is cut right would all look great!
While I agree with many posters that the first dress looks nice, I have to say, I like the second one MUCH more on you. Generally, when someone has already purchased a dress, unless something was glaringly wrong, I would encourage them to stick with it. And I do not see anything glaringly wrong with the first dress. But again, I REALLY like the second one. If it were me, I would get it and sell the first one. You shold wear what you feel most comfortable in. It's your day, and you're wearing the dress, not your friends. Just my 2 cents...
If you feel uncomfortable, you aren't going to enjoy yourself as much. And you may look at your pictures with regret. Get the dress that makes you HAPPY even if other people like the other one better. You want to be focused on your husband and your loved ones, not worrying about how you feel in your dress. You shouldn't even be thinking about your dress at all on the day, unless it's to gush about how fabulous you feel. I think you LOOK fabulous in both of them, so get the one that you can put on, forget about, and smile at when you look back at pictures!
first of all sweetie.. Congratulations on the weight loss !!! WOW !! I am veryyyy impressed !!
Now as for the dresses, I do love the dress you already own! But I say you need to feel gorgeous and perfect that day.. if you are really that self conscious, go with the other dress. Make sure you feel how you want to feel !!
i also love the first one on you. but i know what you mean with the side profile. my first dress was a mermaid and i have had a 175lb weight loss. the excess skin looked more like a baby bump and i was in tears at the salon. they were wonderful and allowed me to swap the dress out (they understood the problem and that i just wasnt being a picky bride) they suggested more A line gowns and now I am totally in love. Here are pics of my story: dress one was the one that was returned.
and the one that saved the day!

I clicked the wrong thing! I meant to vote for the first dress it looks amazing on you!
I say definitely stick with the first! It's more figure-flattering on you, and I can actually see the tummy you're talking about from the FRONT in the Alfred Angelo (but not in the first one). Also, I just don't care for the ruffles on the skirt in the 2nd.
BUT - if you're not at all comfortable in the first, and you are comfortable in the second, you've gotta do what you've gotta do... don't spend your wedding day feeling self conscious.
I have to say though... I don't think it's very Jessica Rabbit at all... it's elegant and pretty!

Ok so here is my story. Even before my fiance and I were engaged I had been looking at wedding gowns, (pretentious I know!) and I found Maggie Sottero's Isadora Marie. After we were finally engaged I made an appointment at the nearest Maggie dealer. I went in to try on my dream dress, and they didn't have it! So I tried on a variety of others none of which moved me until I tried on Alfred Angelo's Snow White. I liked how it was flowy and romantic, but wasn't ready to commit, so I went to my next appointment where I found and bought San Patrick's Peralta. It wasn't what I had envisioned walking down the aisle in, but my friends and family assured me it looked great and hugged my curves just right. I was self conscious of my tummy area since it is a trumpet cut, but again was reassured by family that it was just in my head. (I have lost 55lbs to date, so sometimes I still think of myself as plus sized even though I am not anymore, and never will be again! lol) So I bought the dress, it was a sample sale, in my size and everything! But, going home I started to worry if I made the right choice, or if I had made an "impulse buy"
Today I found my dream dress, it has the sweetheart neckline with the scalloped lace, a corset back and a flowy romantic skirt with no pickups! Its everything I wanted, the only problem is everyone says I look better in Peralta!I agree it gives me that vaa vaa voom like Jessica Rabbit, However, I am self conscious in it from the side, b/c I am the type of gal to carry weight in the tummy area. In alfred angelo 2123 I feel gorgeous and princessy. Mind the picture quality for Alfreds dress is horrible as I only had my blackberry on me.
So what I want to know Bees is, should I follow my heart and get Alfred's which makes me feel like a beautiful princess and maybe isn't as figure flattering (also take note the Alfred dress is a size too small, so be forgiving of the back blubber! Haha) or San Patrick which makes me feel like Jessica Rabbit plus a few extra pounds? If I choose 2123, I will need to sell Peralta so if anyone's interested give me a shout. She is a size 14, in Ivory. No alterations.
