    Hey everyone :)

My BM's are going to be wearing Impression Bridesmaid dress #1754 in Apple green. My colors are green and chocolate. I want them to have a brown sash around their waist to tie in the brown so they can wear brown heels instead of paying a fortune to find dyeable shoes. Problem is, I can't find a reasonably priced sash anywhere. I like the rosette sash from Ann Taylor in the brown color but couldn't ask them to pay $35 for it. They're already paying for their dresses. Do you think it would be okay to wear a brown satin or taffeta CHAIR sash around their waist? Please help!

I'd probably have to say no to the chair sash idea, BUT do you know anyone who can sew (mom, MIL, grandma, aunt, friend, cousin, etc.)?  If you do, I'm sure they could very easily make them for you!

I have seen the chair sashes used before by a girl from another website and it looked great.  She even added a pretty broach (i am sorry my spelling sucks tonight, lol) to it and it look just like it came with it.

You can buy sashes from David's Bridal for $10. -$20.00  I know you said you didn't want to purchase them, but thats not too expensive... I don't think.

The Ann Taylor sahs (I love it too) is made of grograin ribbon. I was planning to have my girls wear a ribbon sash (no flowers) from the begining and hten I saw the Ann Taylor one which made me confident in that decision. Try to find some ribbon and then you can choose a custom length.

If you know somebody that has a sewing machine, the best option would be to MAKE THEM!!

This is BEAUTIFUL satin, and just do a quick online search for Joann 40% off coupons and now it is $4.00/yd. Depending on how wide you want each sash to be you could easily be 5-6 sashes from 1 yard of material.

Re: the shoes, why do they have to be brown or green, like the colors?  Why can't they be silver, gold, bronze?

@keoki-I hadn't thought about those colors for shoes...Hmm. Thanks, you probably just made the shoe search easier!

You could also buy very wide ribbon and use that. You can just use some of the iron on hem stuff to hem the ends of the ribbon so they don't fray. I'm sure that would be very inexpensive.

I also recommend David's.  Their sashes are cheap.

if you're only doing a sash because you need the shoes to match something then I say don't do it.  they don't need to have all their accessories be matchy matchy.  brown, (or gold, bronze, coper), shoes will look great with the dress even without a sash.

Sure.  Even a piece of ribbon would work (lady at the dress shop recommended that to me.)

We bought Ivory ribbon (2 inches wide) at a Fabric store near us and it worked great :)
