So today I went for my second last dress shopping appointment at David’s Bridal. I have been keeping track fo my top dresses so far and I am planning to make a decision afret my last appointment with Pronovias.
Fo the record, I have fallen in love with Vera Wang Lark , a $8,000 dress. Alteration will be $700 so the lark will need a $10K budget. I can work hard for it, but I do not feel comfortable spending that much on a dress I would wear for 6 hours. So I am keeping my options open. I have included the prices here, for a guide, fo instance, is the marginal wow factor I get from the Lark enough to justify spending extra $6,500 compared to the other cheaper dresses? Please help me chooose with this in mind. Thanks bees, the journey is almost over!!!
Dress 1-Vera Wang White Style VW351172: $1, 348
Dress 2: Mori Lee 5104 – $900
Dress 3: Vera Wang Lark – $7, 990
Dress 4: Vera Wang White Style VW351136 – $500

I think dress 1 and 4 are both gorgeous on you. If you can spend upwards of $10,000 on a dress, go for it, but honestly, all of the options you posted above look amazing on you, and you will look beautiful in whatever you choose.

I know Lark is your true love, but #1 is almost indistingusihable from Lark to me. I literally can’t tell the difference between them. I vote Dress #1 since it comes closest to your dream!

They are all very similar and beautiful on you! You definitely can’t go wrong with any of them! I would absolutely go with one of the less expensive options, and I especially love the Mori lee on you!

@PonkiHoneyBee: I like dress 1 or 2. I actually do like the Lark silhouette best, but as you said, it’s quite a lot of money to justify a marginally nicer wow factor. I wonder if 1 or 2 could be altered a bit to be more like the Lark? The main differences I see is that the Lark appears to be more fitted through the thigh, and the ruffles, skirt start lower down yor leg, making your torsoe look longer. That true tigh-fitting mermaid is seriously va va voom on you:) I voted 2- it’s closest to the Lark and I figure with the cheapest price tag, even if the alterations cost more, you can afford it! You have a lovely figure- love the mermaid on you!

If you are in love with Lark, and you want a dress that has a similar vibe AND looks AMAZING ON YOU, but will not cost you $10K, dress #1 is the perfect option for you! I love it!
To me, dresses #4 and #2 are not even in the same league for many reasons. The proportions and details of dress #2 are, in my opinion, not nearly as nice. As for dress #4, I am completely distracted by the second third of this dress (the middle section) that interrupts the flow of the rest of the gown. Both the front and back of the dress feature an odd, arched-shaped seam that, to me, just does not work at all with the rest of the design of that dress.

@PonkiHoneyBee: Dress one does it for me. It has a presence thanks to the skirt and the dramatic skirt highlights your natural shape. Dress two comes in second. The dress with the expensive price tag – dress four doesn’t look as good as dress one does on you.

What’s the rest of your wedding like? If it’s very opulent then a cheaper dress might not fit. But if its just a normal wedding, I say go for dress one. It’s very similar to the lark and the price is much better.

You look GORGEOUS in all but I think 1 looks especially beautiful!
I really like the neckline and straps on 4 but I’m not sure about the middle.
2 is really gorgeous as well, especially the bodice.

Dresses 1 and 4 are stunning on you!

Well, I say go for Lark if it’s in your budget!
But if it’s not, dress 1 is just as gorgeous!

I think the lark is the best one :/ However, dress one is one small notch below, but way way cheaper. Not only that, but it looks much more expensive than it really is – you can’t beat that! Dress one looks fantastic on you, I would go with that one.

Honestly, #1 and #4 look AMAZING on you. I know how much you love the Lark dress, but girl you look amazing in those other two gowns! Plus, with the money you save you can splurge on a fabulous pair of shoes and put the rest to spoil/pamper yourself on your honeymoon, go on a shopping spree, or just save it for a rainy day. 😉

I gasped and said “Wow!” looking at the first, and don’t think any of the others came close to that wow factor, even the more expensive ones! I think the more dropped wasit instead of the lower mermaid is a better fit on you. You look amazing in all of them though!
