Davids has some great stuff in your price range, also, most dresses that have a train can have it cut off. I originally didn't want a train and had the consultants fold the dres under so I could see what it would look like without a train.
Here is a GREAT website to check, you can't try them on, but you can try on the styles at other stores to see if the style suits you. I have bought several formals from them and their customer service is great.
dress number 1 for sure!! i using to work for a bridal boutique and i im telling you from personal experience when a consultant hears you want a dress under $500 plus alterations they ar going to automatically send you over ot clearence. i would def look at sample sizes and consider increasing your budget a little more...maybe to $700.
You look amazing in dress #1!!!
They look lovely. If you are feeling like a road trip there is a Bridal 'n Tux in Dayton, Ohio. They are a retail establishment for romanticgowns.com. They have tons of stuff in your price range.
well, for under $500 -- WOW! nice work! i am sorry it was disappointing... i think we all want to feel pampered and waited on during something as momentous as trying on wedding gowns!
as for the dresses -- i think #1 is beautiful -- it is really ethereal / grecian / goddess looking.... i also like the one sholder one... it is very sophisticated looking.
J. Crew has a few nice wedding dresses for less than $500.
ETA: J.C. Penney's has wedding dresses online as well, for even less!
You don't sound thrilled about #1. Keep looking, you'll def find something in your price range. Even try Bloomingdales and Lord and Taylor if you know you don't want a train. Plus then they always have a coupon out especially if you have their card.
Check out this Sue Wong on sale for $125 http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=540940&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results it looks a little similar to the styles you've got there.
I think #1 looks beautiful on you! If those aren't what you're looking for, keep looking, though. David's Bridal should have some in your price range. Or you could look at preownedweddingdresses.com or oncewed.com (those are nice if there's a specific dress you love but can't afford new)
That first dress is gorgeouuuuuuus! It reminds me of a greecian goddess, which is what I wanted to go with at first but didn't. Love it on you!!
@Renee37: I suggest that you look on preownedweddingdresses.com since there are a # of boutiques sell sample dresses @ Awesome prices. It shouldn't be a problem finding a dress w/in your budget I found my Badgley Mischka sample dress from yourdreamdress.com for $650. Alterations were under $200. I'm a street size 6, so I was able to find a # of dresses online. Once you know your bridal size, it will be easy to purchase a dress online.
If you don't want to go the online route, there's the Church Street Bridal in VA. You can find sample dresses from top designers w/in your budget. Just make it a Girls Trip:)
Here's me in my gown:

@squeak35: Thank you for your suggestions. Sad thing about girls trip is I recently move out here (Jeffersonville, Indiana). Actually, been here 2 weeks today, no friends, no family out here just my fiance and my daughter :-) Left my family and friends in the Caribbean to move out here with my fiance.

Ok so I am on a small budget and trying to spend no more than $500 on a dress including tax and alterations if possible. I am a 30 something bride, having an intimate wedding at home in my backyard with about 40 people. So I made an appointment with Bridal Warehouse and it was not what I expected at all. First of all they did not have any of the dresses I wanted to try and my consultant simply directed me to the clearance rack & pointed out where the destination dresses were and I was left to sort through the dresses to select what I liked to try on if any.
So, I pulled 6 dresses (1 did not fit and they did not have a bigger size for me to try, 2 others when I took it out the bag, I simply refused to try on as they had really long trains which i did not want) These are are the 3 Mori Lee dresses I did try. The only one I like of the 3, was the first dress. What you think bees???? I really need help in finding a dress within my price range in the Louisville/Jeffersonville area. After my 1st day at Bridal Warehouse I feel so disappointed.
