    Hi WI Brides!

I'm new to the Wedding Bee and just looking for a little advice. I'm going dress shopping on the 22nd for the first time! My wedding isn't until Sept. 2012 but my MOH will be visiting for a family reunion. She lives in DC so she won't be around too much to help with the planning, so we thought we'd take advantage of our time together and go try on some dresses.

Anyway, this is my first time trying on dresses and I' m a little nervous! We are going to Vera's House of Bridals in Madison. I'm a street size 16. Do they have a pretty wide array of sizes to try on? Its my biggest fear that I won't be able to try on anything! I know that's probably stupid...Any other plus size girls try on dresses at Vera's?

I went dress shopping at Vera's - it was the first store I went to and I had a great experience!  I think I worked with Kelsey - she made me feel super comfortable and relaxed (which is great, because my mom was making me feel the opposite of that!)  I was about an 8 in wedding dress size when I went there and I remember trying on a lot of size 10 gowns.  I know that doesn't really answer your question, but I would suggest you call them and ask what sizes they carry.  I did that for a few shops around where I live as I had heard they only carried really tiny sizes.  I think they are fairly used to questions like that.

I also went to Premiere Couture while I was in Madison.  They didn't have as much selection, but they had really unique gowns.  The gowns were way more fashion forward than I was looking for, but the woman who owns the shop is fantastic.  She was very friendly & helpful & made me very comfortable.  (I'm not a girly girl so the idea of dress shopping slightly terrified me)
