I've heard great things about Madeleine's (sp?) up in NH. Also, Yolanda's in Waltham MA (not sure how far that is from Nashua, I think 45 minutes?). My sister got her dress in Nashua, but I forget the name of the store. It has also moved locations so I can't even tell you where it is! How fun for you and your mom!!
There is also Marry & Tux in Nashua (as well as a David's Bridal)
HTH!
I love Madeleine's Daughter in Portsmouth - I got my dress there, my sister did, and all bridesmaid dresses too. In my opinion, it's the best shop in NH and I liked it better than any shop in Boston, too.
You do need to make an appt. there but it's worth it!
Hi,
I'm an event planner in NH, and I just wanted to give you a few suggestions. You should really try to go to Natasha's in Methuen Mass, they are great, friendly, and they go above and beyond. Also there is a place in Salem NH Sposa Atelier, which I've heard really good things about. Madeline's is really upscale, and you can drop some serious money there, but they can be really bitchy to people, and I've heard horror story after horror story of them screwing up alterations etc. I wiish you luck with it. If you need any other tips, give me a shout!

Modern Bride and formal Shop in Bedford NH is wonderful and they include some alterations right in the price of the dresses. They really are some of the nicest people and you don't need to make an appointment either. www.modernbrideshop.com
Good Luck and enjoy it its super fun
I have to disagree with the prior poster who said Madelein's is snooty and screws up alterations and is expensive.
It is not upscale - just classy. You work with a consultant and sit in a nice room and they bring you dresses. They have a good range of dresses running from 600-sky is the limit. You fill out a form when you get there telling them your range and they will not bring you dresses out of your range if you don't want them.
You need an appointment and the women are professional, not bitchy. I worked with Gigi who is awesome as did my sister. My sister's alterations were great and mine have been great so far (and my dress is silk satin with good lines, which would suck to mess up).
Also there is no sales tax in NH, so that is a bonus.
Anyways, just my opinions!
OK, I've been to almost allll the shops in NH, and many in Mass.
In Nashua, Marry & Tux is fabulous and the best, work with Polly, she's amazing. Make an appointment, she's not there on Tues/Thurs I believe.
Modern Bride in Bedford are not the most helpful. I bought bridesmaids dresses there 19 years ago for my first wedding and they are great, things have slipped. They didn't the gowns by the vendors listed on the website, couldn't find prices, do not take appointments...I went twice (November and May... no better.)
In Concord, An affair to remember is good, as well as Cassies (both on Main St.)
Madelines Daughter is OK... I have personally experienced BIG problems after the sale, pre sale they are great, alterations were really problematic both for brides (weddings I've been in) and order issues and problems with bridemaid dresses (ordered way too big and huge charges for alterations.) Difficulty with orders too, I'd avoid them...
Sposa Atalier (Salem NH) was great to work with, Debbie and the owner (Lucia I think) both wonderful really nice service. The shop is lovely, decor is light and it's spacious, gowns beautifully displayed too.
French's Bridal in Beverly MA, are great, work with Roberta, VERY knowledgable, nice small boutique shop.
Bella Briadal Shoppe in Amesbury, MA also great Elysha was wonderful.
I ultimately purchased my gown in Newton Ma, I stumbled upon this little shop after going to a big place (VOWS) which has big name designer gowns for $1800-6K.
The shop where I bought is called La Sposa, I could not be happier, Lisa was great. I'm delighted. GOOD LUCK
Thank you for all the helpful hints! I will try to make a plan of attack with my mom and sisters and figure out which shops we can go to. Thanks again!
I just wanted to come back and say thank you for all of the suggestions. We ended up going to Modern Bride in Bedford and then Madeleine's Daugther in Portsmouth. Two very different experiences, but both were good. I ended up getting my dress at Madeleine's Daugther. It was nice to go shopping with my mom and sisters and get their opinion's, especially since I had a dress that I changed my mind about and now found this one.
I ended up getting a 2009 Wtoo dress : http://www.watters.com/product.php?coll=wtoobrides&showid=2446
The lady I worked with at Madeleine's daugther was Kerry. I told her what I liked in a dress and she picked dresses out for me to try on. She was dead on with her selections. Based on the pictures online I'm not sure I would have tried this dress on without her pulling it.
Thanks again for the suggestions!
Your dress is beautiful!!
I am glad you found a dress in NH..."live free or die"!
I just had my dress appointment at Madeleine's Daughter. I worked with Sadie and she was great. While I haven't purchased my dress yet (looking for a used dress online) I would reccommend the shop. I never felt rushed or pushed into anything.
I recently bought my dress at Valerie's in Reading, MA on Rt. 28. It is a little shop full of dresses w/out the glam of a regular bridal shop but the sales people are fantastic. I had been to Madeline's and walked out in tears because my sales person basically gave up on me after none of her suggestions were my fit. The experience at Madeline's was far more upscale and I'm glad I experienced a shop like that (we only do this once right :) ) but for down to matter dress hunting, a non-commission shop like Valerie's worked for me. Good luck!

Hi,
My mom lives in Nashua, NH and I live in NC. I am going up in August to visit her and go wedding dress shopping. Could anyone recommend the best bridal shops that would be within an hours drive of Nashua?
Thanks!
