Granted – I don’t own a long line corset – or any corset, for that matter – but, I’m wondering if I should get one before going dress shopping. I know that there’s the chance it wouldn’t work with my dress – but, I’m wondering if there is any value in doing so. Or, if I should just use a strapless bra and spanx and then figure out a corset after I know the neck line.

don’t buy it first they have that stuff at the stores! and then you can only buy what you need.

Most stores have longline bras that you can wear – I’d definitely hold out on buying anything, because you may not even need it with your dress!

I brought along my strapless bra and spanx when I went. I already had those items so it was no biggie. Hold off on the heavy duty stuff until you go in to get measured to order the dress.

I wore a strapless bra and spanx, it worked out well for me.

I wore a strapless bra and spanx (even if they have the longline in stores, I am a 34F, so they probably wouldn’t have my size)

I just wore a strapless bra, every store I went too had a longline bra for me to use if necessary.
Also – try to wear a fairly low-cut bra if possible. When trying on bridesmaids dresses my one maid who came in a longline bra and spanx found that those undergarments sometimes made certain dresses look off, especially for thinner fabrics.

Most places have all of that stuff there for you, but I brought my own strapless bra. It’s best to just wait and see what dress you end up choosing before you go buying undergarments. Have fun!
