So, I ordered my dress and while I love it, I thought the sample dress fit very well. After being measured, the consultant said that I needed a size smaller. While I was determined to stick to my guns, she brought in another consultant and they both assured me that this dress is definitely too big and I’ll be better off with the smaller side. Admittedly, I don’t know much about alterations and bridal fit so I went ahead and ordered the size they suggested. While it’ll be at least a month before the dress comes in, I can’t help but look at this picture and worry that I made a mistake.
Bees, honest opinions… do you think the dress I’m wearing is too big, or do you think I should have gone with this size with minimal alterations? Thanks!

Honestly, it does look a little baggy on you, especially the top. I feel if you got a size smaller it would accentuate you the way its supposed to. I think you did right by ordering the size smaller. Please post a pic when you get it in too!

I agree with @andilene! It does look a little big, the smaller one should be perfect! (And great dress by the way) 🙂

It does look a little big. I’ve also heard that sometimes, samples get a little bigger than their label size from being tried on. Don’t know how true that is, but it might be relevant.

before I even read what you wrote I thought “hmm, looks a little big on her”
Don’t worry, you’ill be fine! The difference between sizes isn’t usually TOO drastic anyways, usually an inch and a half or so maybe =)

What a beautiful dress! I think going down a size was a good choice. It will show off your curves more.

Definitely looks big. That’s comparable to how mine looked–maybe yours is even looser–when I picked it up and my alterations lady is taking it in at least a full size if not more. Unless you have alterations all included or at a flat rate, the better the fit to begin with, the fewer seams will have to be taken in and the cheaper the alterations will be.

Thanks, ladies! I guess it’s a very good thing I don’t work in fashion because I still don’t see it (I wonder if that means I wear poorly fitted clothes every day hahaha). But, since it appears to be unanimous, you must all be right! I’ll update you when it comes in 🙂
