I'm a little confused - can you not order the dress in the correct size? I don't know much about alterations, but I think taking it up by two whole sizes may be difficult.
Probably not. Bridal dress sizing is often the opposite of vanity sizing. A size 6 bridal may actually be a size 2 street size. You really would need to check the sizing chart of the manufacturer, but it's always more difficult to go up multiple size because it largely depends on the seam allowances of the dress.
I don't think you can. I think bridal sizing is way different than street sizing. If you're a size 10/12 street size, you're probably going to need a 14. I'm a size 4 street size and I ordered mine in a 6 and I think its gonna be way snug I had been trying on size 8's and they fit just right.
Im a 10-12 street size and have a wedding dress that's size 12, sample size..not altered...so I didn't have to go up to a 14....I wasn't sure how far up or down you could go because there's another dress that is an 8 but I don't think it can be altered that much...my girlfriend said general rule is 2 sizes up and down...I should just stop while I'm ahead!!
a corset back 8 could be worn by a size 12 person but that's about it. alterations wise, it depends..you'd have to ask a seamstress about the particulars of your dress.
i'm a size medium on the top (6ish?) and usually a 9 in pants, although i have some tight 7s. in both casablanca and maggie sottero/sottero & midgley dresses i fit an eight just about perfectly! but i think in pronovias i was a 10 in some dresses? idk if you're looking into any of those dresses though..

Can a size 8 dress be sized up to a 12?? or does it depend on the dress??? I'm a street size 10/12, not sure if a size 8 would even fit. Any advice is great!
