What about the Maggie Sottero Cameron, Isadora or Leoni? I don't know what prices are like in the UK, but in the U.S. I think they would all fall under 1000 pounds.
@stokieGal: Dresses are more expensive in Europe and I think to get a dress of 1000 pounds (incl. alterations) is almost close to impossible. Look out for sales and outlet store- SOMETIMES some dresses will be 50% off.
I got mine from David's Bridal. It's not exactly what you are saying but there is a uniqueness to it, it's sweetheart and there is a flower and i think it would look really cute and spunky with a short hair cut. There are even pockets!!! Can you have them ship overseas?
Have you thought about doing a dressily me dress?
Ps. As you know, I'm a uk bride too. I flew to the us to get my dress and it worked out cheaper than bing it here!
Found these at Nordstrom's. (BTW, I too have very short hair and didn't even consider growing it for my wedding. My short hair is me!)

@vermontia: i like these dresses very nice.
CrispyRN that last one is gorgeous
mcklough your dress is really pretty, although i need floor length ideally as i am getting married in december
Ivyperks that dress is gorgeous
2ndtime the skirt on the 4th dress is amazing.
some great ideas ladies thank you x
@Ivyperks: I actually tried this dress on. It was beautiful and fun, but the petals at the hip did nothing for my body (pear shaped). It looked *great* from the front, but was a bit of a disaster from the side/back. I think someone with less of an pear shape and more of an hourglass figure could seriously rock this amazing dress.

hi bee's,
at first i thought i wanted a traditional wedding dress and to look much like the typical bride on my wedding day, i have began growing my very short hairstyle out, which is now down to just below my chin but.... i've decided i'm only doing this once so i'm going do it my way i have had short hair for years and i will only chop it all off after the wedding as i love my hair short, so i'm going have it short for the wedding too, i want to look like me as a bride not just a bride. also i have changed my mind on the traditional wedding dress, all i know is i want some flowers on the dress, i want it to have a low waist line (something that stops at the hips...if that makes sense) and i would love a train, and i would like a sweatheart neckline. something a little bit different would be perfect but i just can't seem to find what i am looking for....
any ideas or help would be much appreciated and pics would be fantastic.... my top end price range is £1000
thanks x
