I am not a wedding dress person. Don't get me wrong, I'm not wearing black or anything like that... but I've never been overly excited about trying on dresses or finding "the one". I am a horrible decision maker and I also don't want to spend alot on my dress.

I've gone to bridal shops, David's Bridal, searched online and still... nothing. Then yesterday, I was walking in Davis Square in Somerville, Massachusetts and stumbled upon a vintage shop. I don't wear vintage clothes but I also don't have extravagent tastes. They had three wedding dresses hanging up and one of them was my size. I tried it on and it fit PERFECTLY (and its only $98).

The dress is so beautiful and different and adorable. Because its from the 1950's or 60's, it has these sheer sleeves that I'd take off and alter it into a tank dress... I'd probably put about $200 worth of alterations + cleaning into it although its in great condition.

Is it worth the effort to have to alter it and fix it up? It's such a flowy sweet dress and I love the fact that someone wore it before (and wondering who they are and all about them!).

Anyone else wear a used dress or borrow one? Sorry I can't attach a pic, I only took one with my phone and it won't upload :(

lindsey - for a girl who says she wasn't looking for "the one" it seems as if you found "the one"!  Dress Stress : wedding wedding gown Icon Biggrin

As long as $300 is in your budget for the dress - then do it!

I agree.. I say go for it! If it is what you want then go for it, and as long as it is in your budget! When you get it you will have to post pictures!
