The humaneness of the feather harvesting depends on the company/designer/brand, but it always much safer to err on the side of caution and go with synthetic/non-animal alternatives.

Here’re some alternatives I found:

Fabric tiers:

Fabric Fringe:

Petals/Paillettes:

“Flapper” Fringe:

My skirt looks like feathers, but it’s just chiffon “petals” it’s the Bonny 1210. Bonny 229 is very similar too. It’s stunning on 🙂

These dresses are by LianCarlo   http://liancarlo.com/bridal/

I just think these are so gorgeous! The skirts are made from tulle or organza.

They’re all Sue Wong (except the first one). I searched based off the dress you first posted.

This site has a bunch of available Sue Wong dresses listed. I just searched “Sue Wong evening dress” (without quotes). Her dresses are available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks, Neimans, Bluefly.com, etc.

@lealorali: Oh my. That dress is phenomenal!

@rusticbee2014: Oh poop, I didn’t think they were real feathers! Mine is just chiffon! Feathers are a little cruel :/

Sue Wong evening dresses don’t usually go over $750. Mine was $710!!!! They are at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales like someone said above AND  eBay.

You’re going to be mad but some of those Sue Wong’s posted above were on Ideeli (a flash sale site) for like 50% OFF THIS WEEKEND! Ideeli features her every 6 weeks or so.
