Sooo because I am always looking for an excuse to buy a pretty new dress, I ordered this little beauty last night:
I also want to wear this dress that I already have:
(It looks a little black in this photo, but it’s navy)
I know I don’t NEED anything other than what I want, but should I go with a more casual look as well? Or cut one of the dresses? What do you think?

Style and color wise both dresses are very similar. You may want to consider just wearing one and having another outfit that is different (pants, a skirt, a non-40s style dress, etc.).

@lovekiss: +1. I ended up hating the way one of my dresses photographed in our engagement pictures (too much boobs, a little too short, my bra straps kept showing, etc.) and so I am really glad that I wore 3 different outfits. You should definitely pick a totally different outfit, even if it’s just for a few pictures, so you have some contrast and just in case you don’t like something about one of the dresses! Also, I agree with PP that they’re both so similar that it would be nice to pick a third color or style.

Thank you for the input!
I didn’t note this in the OP, but does it make a difference that this style is how I usually dress?
I also have this dress, would that be a good alternative to the darker sailor dress, to change it up a little more?
I think we might also do some “in the snow” pictures if the weather cooperates, with coats and hats, etc, so I guess that would be a third “look.”
