I’m checking out the possibility of getting dresses from a non-bridal store, so they aren’t so one-use for my bridesmaids.
I’m having trouble finding a store that has the same dresses in both standard and plus sizes. They have some designs in standard sizes, and other designs in plus sizes, but not the same dress across both. I’d need a range between size 8 and 26.
We can order online, but I’m leery of my gals not being able to try on, so hoping for a brick and mortar place.

I don’t know about size ranges but dept stores like Macy’s, Nordstrom, etc actually have bridesmaid dresses that are probably more reusable than typical bridal store dresses. Have you ever though of maybe one of those convertable dresses too? That way each girl can wear it the way they are most comfortable.

@PinkAndPearls2013: Thanks. I did check Macy’s and Nordstroms websites and they seem to have the same issue – mostly different dresses in plus sizes than in standard sizes (except for one or two dresses I did find at Macy’s that crossed both). Also their plus sizes generally only go to 20 or 22 so won’t work for one of my BMs.
I was thinking of the convertible dresses but had heard that they didn’t work so well for larger gals.

Have you tried JcPennies? A while ago Target announced a line of bridesmaids dresses. I don’t know what there sizing is like though.

@auggiefrog: JC Penny’s seems to have some potential. They do list having 4 dresses that range from size 4 to size 32. However all the plus sizes are not in stock or available to order.
