I am having a hard time trying to find nice dresses with sleeves. I have a small budget (I wish I can spend less than $200 for a dress, though I could do more for the right one). I’m getting married June 3rd of this year. I am also going to work hardcore on losing weight, so I don’t know what size I should try to get.
Right now I wear 16-22 depending on the manufacturer. Have no idea what I’ll be by then. I suppose it could be taken in? What if it’s magically too big then to take in successfully?
(I think I just have wedding brain fry for the moment…just got engaged on Feb 13th, so lots to do. I can’t think straight )
Has anyone seen websites with sleeved dresses?

I bought my mob gown from here. http://www.keepmeinstitches.biz
Here is something that may work for you? I went to my local drycleaner/seamstress and got measured then I called customer service and asked them what size I needed. I usually take a 2X but because of my tummy, I needed to order a 5x. Plus if you are that close to your wedding I would want to call to make sure they had it in stock. Make sure that you read the fine print-they may charge you a re-stocking fee if you decide you don’t want it or it doesn’t fit. I don’t have anything to do with them. Just a happy customer. Anyway the dress quality was terrific!! This one with the bolero is a bridesmaid dress for $116.00 They also sell wedding dresses too, and other white BM dresses. Feel free to PM me.

You can always add a bolero. There are a lot of cute/inexpensive ones on etsy. Good luck with your dress search!

Here is the 1st wedding dress I found and bought… It’s a size 16. I have since decided that I need a plainer dress for my venue. I am going to be selling this dress. I wear a street size 14/16/18 normally.

I like this Sottero and Midgley….
But don’t be afraid to try sleeveless! I was surprised how flattering it is.

Try IGIGI – they are a well-established plus sized clothing company based out of SF. They have a wedding section for very moderate prices – looks about the $300 range. I was looking into their dresses before I decided to go the wedding dress + bolero route. Good luck!

Try http://www.auroragowns.com! They also have a store locator, so they can help you find someone in your area!!!

Thanks – these are some pretty options and I have new places to look. I’m an LDS bride, so I do need something with at least a cap sleeve (though I don’t like those). I’m actually off on a wild goose chase tomorrow…. someone posted on our local classified that they had $50 dresses for $25 each. They said they would hold the 2 that are close to my size (and they do have sleeves) , so who knows what I will find. I will also start venturing into bridal shops since I probably do need to see what style fits my big ol hips right 🙂
Thanks again 😀

I bought a strapless and added a bolero. I am selling mine for $100 for everything (bolero and sash included) if you are interested pm me 🙂

@ZeldaHyrule: What is an LDS bride? I think the idea of adding a bolero really makes sense and gives way more options.

You can wear ANY dress you want, and just buy a bolero, shawl or jacket!

@sueanddemetrius LDS=Mormon 🙂
I found a couple of options I love (less than these prices)
Going again today with one of my MOH’s to try them on again so she can see. Leaning towards the 2nd one..would be easier just to cinch up a bit tighter if I lose weight instead of having to worry about more alterations.
Will consider bolero as I keep looking around. Evidently Im around a 20 or 22 in the bridal world so far 😀 Such pretty dresses everyone has posted here too. Thanks!

LDS stands for Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon).

I tried this one on – how does it look? It wasn’t the one I had put on hold, but when I went back and looked at the pictures I took, this one makes my waist stand out the best and the sleeves aren’t so bad (Im still not fond of cap sleeves…I like longer maybe.). It doesn’t have a corset, but it fits snugly so it has a bit of room if I lose weight like I hope.
