I was SO convinced that with my short petite frame that I would not be able to pull off anything with volume. I saved a TON of photos of empire dresses in my files thinking that is what I would end up with… at the bridal salon, it turns out that it was one of the worst type of silhouettes on me.
This really goes to show that you HAVE to keep an open mind when shopping. Don’t rule things out, and try on every silhouette!!
What did you think would look good on you but didnt?

This was my dream dress!
When I tried it on…the fabric was WAYY heavy and it did absolutely NOTHING for my figure…I was seriously dissappointed cuz I had been showing this pic to ppl WAY before I got engaged. I honestly thought this was the one!

I wanted this one to work so badly but it made me look huge! 🙁 I was so disappointed, I walked around the salon for a while trying to convince myself I liked it. It just wasn’t to be.

I thought this one was gorgeous on the model, but on me…..yeah, not so much!

I came back to the Watters Austin so many times when I was looking through bridal mags. I thought, being short and curvy, I wouldn’t be able to pull off a more fitted style.
Unfortunately when I finally got to try the Austin on, it totally cut me off at the waist. I ended up with a mermaid!

Silly petite me, trying to pull off a dress with such a voluminous skirt. Actually the sweetheart neckline looked terrible on me too. And my torso isn’t that long, so the waist of the dress hit me closer to my pelvic region. Very odd looking.
