Hi Bee’s, so I ordered 2 dresses from Dressilyme on Aug 8th.
I was told it would be 40-45 days before I received pictures, but today they sent them!
Let’s do the good news first.
I ordered a replica of Maggie’s Isadora Ann for my reception. It wasn’t on their website, so I was a little nervous but they did an AMAZING job. I’m am blown away and super excited by it.
Should i we worried about the mini dents in the pleating? Or will a good steam iron those out?
Am i missing anything in my excitment?
OK, now the bad news. For my ceremony dress, I ordered a replica of Mori lee 2193 in IVORY. I didn’t think to specify the color of applique because i assumed it would be in ivory. But they did it in WHITE! I’m freaking out at the white on ivory. I hate it. I’m terrified they won’t fix it.
I don’t know if it’s just the pictures that make it seem so stark or what. But yah… having a mini freak out! I was soooo careful and talked over alll the details i could think of with coco. He even asked if i wanted ivory on the short dress and i said yes, so i assumed they would know i wanted ivory on both dresses.
My other slight worry about this dress is the shape. It’s supposed to be a dropped waist ball room gown. But it’s looking pretty a-line to me. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of petty coat that isn’t giving it its shape… but i was hoping for a more smooth rounded layering. My last little annoyance is that the lace trim on the skirts is twice as thick as it is on the original. But i’m not sure that’s a bad thing. I might even like it if it were IVORY! The color is just throwing me off so bad that i can’t think straight!
I feel like a crazy person. Is it just me? Or does the white on ivory really look that bad?
I’ve emailed them back already about it. Crossing my fingers praying to every god/goddess/star/speck of dust in the Universe that they’ll change it for me!
ps. i’m writing this super fast on my break so please ignore the copious amounts of spelling errors.

I don’t really like the white on the ivory, either.
But, the shape can be fixed with a crinoline.

My first thoughts: yes, steam will take care of the “dents” in the first dress, and yes, the white appliques on the ivory dress look weird.
But don’t panic! Just email them your concerns. The girls who get the best results from these places are VERY specific with the things they want changed.
Let us know how it goes!!

Hmm, now that I’m at home and on my laptop, the difference between the white and ivroy isn’t as strong. ~_~ I don’t know which computer screen to trust! Oh dear.

Don’t leave it to chance. Email them and specify that you wanted an IVORY dress and thus Ivory lace over the Ivory dress.
Be specific with everything you want changed. You’re the customer!
And it looks weird to a bunch of us, too. Not life ruining, but just a bit off..

Those dents actually look like stitches to me..
Agree… my first thought was Stitches OR left over Pin Marks from when they were fitting / assembling the draped pleats.
Hope this helps,

I can clearly see the white lace over the ivory dress… It doesn’t look good at all… =(

The white and ivory mix doesn’t look right to me either. Definitely voice your concerns about the color AND the little dents.
I love your dress choices!!!

Thanks guys! I had already emailed them this afternoon asking for them to change it. I also asked them to change the lace on the trim of the skirts. It’s just too thick I think. That’s what I loved about the original. It had a delicate lace trim. I haven’t heard back yet! *fingers crossed*
Thanks for reassuring me that I’m not being a crazy bridezilla! I know it’s not a ton of money, but you’re all right, i am the customer!

They finally replied and told me they can’t change it. I’m totally freaking out now. I’ve replied back to them, and told them that they made a mistake and they have to fix it.
GAH! Why me?

I am so confused why they would use white appliques on an ivory dress? I would be insistent to get it changed.

I won’t give up. I’m hoping this first push back from them is like the request for photo’s. Where they say no to see if i’ll accept it, but now that I’ve pushed back, they’ll have to change it.
If they refuse, i guess I’ll have to open a dispute with Paypal.
But i’m trying to be positive, and tell myself it won’t go that far, because they’ll change it!
@Bazingau I have no idea why they’d use white! In our original emails, when i asked what the dress was made of, he said white applique and beadings. But i thought once I ordered it in Ivory, they would use ivory. I didn’t want silver out lined applique, and i specified that, but i didn’t think i’d need to double check the color! So i guess that’s my fault. But near the end of our emailings, when we were wrapping up the second dress, Coco told me they had white and ivory, and what color did I want. And I replied Ivory. So you think that if i ordered two dress in Ivory, with ivory applique specified, they’d clue in eh? GAH.
I’ve been stalking Dressilyme for months, reading all reviews. I never dreamed that i’d have this experience over the color of applique!
Lesson be learned! You have to double check everything!

@MrsVandykins: Just tell them that you specified an ivory dress and you don’t understand why they would put white over ivory because the colors obviously clash. Then tell them that you also don’t understand why they used such a thick lace when the picture you sent them shows a much thinner lace. Tell them you don’t want to have to resort to a paypal dispute, but that you will not pay for a dress that isn’t to your specifications and you will go elsewhere if you have to. I’m sure once you put the ultimatum, they wil come around.

I’m comparing your dress to the original photo and i agree that yours is much more A-line…the original has the dress and ruching very fitted and tight even over the hips. And then the dress poofs out considerably from that. The copy is really not cut like that at all. As everyone else has said, I would voice your concerns and insist on changes. The color of the ivory looks butter yellow on my screen 🙁
