Hello Hive,
I ordered a dress of dressilyme and thought I would post a review. I had such a hard time researching where to go and what to do for my dress so I thought I would put my two cents in for those brides looking for a someone to custom make a dress just for them. Dressily worked off pictures and drawings I had sent them and did a great job, especially because I am not a seamstress and had no pattern to send... they did a great job and were wonderfully flexible.
The customer service has been wonderful. At first I spoke with Susan who was with the pre-order sales team, and then with Tina once my order was processed. They were both attentive and answered all my questions promptly, usually within the day. I am in New York, and the time difference affects the response time. They were honest and upfront about what could and could not be done. It made life really easy on me.
I ordered on March 1st and pictures of the completed dress were sent to me March 21st. I asked for a few modifications from those pictures, nothing major just me being a picky bride. They were wonderful and accommodating. I received new pictures on March 24th with the requested modifications.
Below are the pictures of my dress. I had it made in an ivory and it was custom made. They made the dress from pictures and drawings I had sent them. There is scattered beading on the train of the dress that gets heavier toward the bottom of the train. The sweetheart neckline is heavily beaded and scatters as it continues down the torso to the asymmetrical dropped-waist line. The front of the skirt has no beading save for two diamante details, one on each hip and one dropped lower than the other.
I cannot wait until it comes. I will modify this review then and possibly post pictures of the dress on. In the meantime, I wanted to share that my experience with Dressilyme to date as been a lovely and stress free one.
TIPS:
~Be as specific as possible and use simple English and be prepared to explain and possibly overlook some words that seem out of place. Some workers have a better understanding of English than others, and they do write very well. Just understand they are not North American or European, and therefore may or may not have the English skills you might have.
~Be polite. There is no need to be rude or push them around. They are wonderfully helpful and willing to do what it takes to make you happy. Tell them what you like and mention that you appreciate them for the work they are doing for you and tell them this is your wedding dress and are excited about wearing it on your special day. If you do not like something, simply ask them to change it.
~ Give yourself some time. You don't want to be stressed about your dress and then take it out on those making it. My dress was made in less than a month, and will be shipped shortly. It will probably get here inside of 6 weeks from the order date... shorter than a lot of bridal shops quote when asked to order a dress not custom made. Order early and leave yourself time to breath.

Oh and if possible can you post your drawings? I am so curious!! I really love your gown and am so happy that you are in love with your gown.
the dress is gorgeous, and i am so happy to hear that they have succeded where other's have failed.
i too ordered a dress from China on March 1st.......still waiting for pics that was promised 2 days ago. i do feel like emailing them again but i dont want them to rush it just to please me, i would prefer they take their time and get it just right, but just how long is long enough to email them again for pictures? i paid by paypal and i know i am covered if it arrives and its horrible, but i think they take a long time like this hoping that the Paypal refund time is over.....
i will be giving a full review of them.... Dream_Dress,
i am really happy for you, and if mine is not up to standard, i will definately be looking to get mine from them too . i think i will email them now actually to get a quote for the 4 bridesmaid dresses i am wanting.
.......
@byarose and Adw2c.....
your dresses are both beautiful. can you see that both of your dresses are photographed modelled on the same dressmakers dummy.......? you can tell by the markings on the 'chest' part of it. :)
It looks really fantastic! I keep reading nothing but positives about this company, can't wait to see more pics!
^_^ looks like it is the same dummy. Theres also similar dresses in the background. LOL. Maybe its because our orders are around the same time. I tried to see if mine was on the rack during the picture.
I am still loving your dress!!! Its amazing! The detail and the beading turned out great. Please let us see a picture of you in it. How is the fit?
its a weddingbee problem at the moment....none of us can see or post pics today. yesterday we WB was offline and is only working half spec right now......it'll be back to normal in a day or so i imagine
Good morning ladies!!! I just wanted everyone to know that THIS board is what convinced me to take a risk and order my dress from DressilyMe. I got scammed by another overseas website and was really hesitant about doing it again, but I saw so many positive comments and BEAUTIFUL photos from you guys that I did it, and I am SO happy! I *JUST* recieved the photos of my dress and am literally in tears (in a happy way!!). I've attached a photo of the dress I tried on in the store that was $1200, and the photos I just recieved from DressilyMe! I am SO impressed by the photos and can't wait to get the dress in my hands so I can try it on (and dance around the house in it haha).
This was the originial dress I tried on in the store (obviously too long lol)
And THIS is my dress from Dressily Me!!!! Absolutely stunning job in my opinion!!
Ok bees! I recieved my DressilyMe dress today and all I can say is WOW!!! It is absolutely AMAZING! So much better than I imagined, the photos they sent me did NOT do it justice! I had it custom made to my measurements and they were spot on. I will have pictures to post tomorrow... I was home by myself and since it's a corset dress, I couldn't get it done up for a decent picture. I can't wait for you all to see it, I am totally in awe over this dress!! For anyone who was skeptical about buying a dress from them, DON'T BE! I was so worried when I ordered, and the worry didn't stop until it showed up today. I am more than pleased :) It was packaged nice and tight, I couldn't really believe a dress this big (lots of tulle) could actually fit in this box haha, but it was in a cloth bag, in a sealed plastic bag, in the box. They packaged it inside out, which was great because if anything were to happen to the box, the beading and whatnot would be safe. It had NO smell whatsoever like I've read a few people post. Pictures tomorrow, I promise. I couldn't be happier :) It actually turned out better than my inspiration dress, in my opinion!
Omg I am so happy for you!!! Please PM me when you post your pics. I want to see ^_^
It's here!!!! Excuse the fact that I look like CRAP lol.. I worked all night and havent been to sleep yet... and no makeup because I didnt wanna get it on the dress. I am SO happy and would highly suggest to ANYONE to definitely order from DressilyMe. I couldnt be happier :) The quality stunned me, I honestly expected the whole "get what you paid for" situation, but I got WAY more than I paid for!!! If you're considering ordering from here, stop considering it and just Do it! You won't be disappointed :)
This is right out of the packaging, I haven't steamed it or anything yet. Everything was exactly to my measurements, but silly me kept losing weight AFTER I submitted my measurements soooo I cant really lose much more or else it'll be too big lol. Haven't figured out if thats a good or bad thing yet haha
I have to adjust the back corset panel, we didn't really line it up when we put it on, this was just a quick fitting :)
just wondering do you guys think dressilyme is better or coral bridal? i think coral bridal is more expensive though...:/
From what I have learnt about the two they are the same in quality. I saw a dress on corals that was the same on dressilyme and there was a $150 difference.
I do however like corals bridals description of beadwork. I think that sounds lovely. I think dressilyme also does excellent beadwork.
I guess it is a matter of preference. I have seen ladies take the coral picture and request it to be made by dressilyme. Either way they are both good.
Hello Hive,
I have just ordered a dress from Dressilyme. I sourced the pictures myself. The communication has been good so far - the person who has been corresponding with me is someone called Paris who seems very helpful. They took my pictures and uploaded it to the website so that I could order it. I paid for it on July 10th so they are currently working on it as we speak. I have requested it to arrive on or before 31st August (to where I live now in Germany). I'm a little anxious, but also excited. Will keep you posted on how the dress and service goes...
@bridalbutterfly42012: Make sure to report back with pictures when you get it!!
I will! :o) Still quite nervous about it but trying not to be. I must say that the website is a lot better to work with than a lot of the other websites for wedding dresses from China. I'm looking for my bridesmaid dresses now too...
Yeah they were wonderful to work with for me. I couldn't have asked for better. I am sure it will be perfect.
I just got a quote back from DressilyMe with some pictures of taffeta fabric swatches. I was hoping for an ivory/off white dres (vs. bright white), but the swatches either look tan or very pure white.
Anybody remember what color number you ordered?
Well, I took the plunge today and ordered my dress from DressilyMe! Total cost was $258 USD!!! The only "negative" part I've experienced so far is that the site initially said $28 for shipping, but really the cheapest option was $36, and that they didn't tell me there was a $15 charge for entering in custom sizes. Not deal breakers, just a little annoying surprise for an already tight budget.
Anyway, the countdown begins! Here's what the original looks like:

Maybe there are new rules I am not aware of. I got custom measurements free of charge months ago. But in business time thats a long time.
At least you have a great deal! Keep us updated. I hope your dress is amazing.
@DesignGal55: I'm excited to see your dress too. It's weird you had to pay extra for giving your measurements because I didn't have to do it on Aug. 12th. But maybe there is a charge for certain dresses and not for others. They had my dress to me in 15 days, so hopefully you will have yours soon!
Hi there. I’m from Germany and today I want to tell you about my experience with Dressily Me and let me say one thing at the beginning: I would make my wedding dress order really ever again ! But let me tell from the beginning….
First of all I watched several homepages of wedding dress companies until I found Paloma Blanca, a canadian wedding dress company (http://www.palomablanca.com). And there they were – MY two favorite dresses:
The bodice of dress no. 4105

The skirt of dress no. 4208:

But the price for a Paloma Blanca dress is heavy: 2.000 $ – 4.000 $, so I looked for an alternative until I read about chinese wedding dress makers. After looking through a lot of reviews my first choise was Milly Bridal. Altough they were more expensive than other companies, they had very good reviews and they produce a test dress and make a photo of it so that one can tell change requests before they make the real dress.
I sent them an email and asked for a quotation and then I was very disappointed that they didn’t answer. One week passed and no response ! So I searched online again and figured out, that a lot of women had recently problems with Milly Bridal. Either they didn’t answer or the production of the dress took ages (several mothes !!! although they tell, that the dress is ready in about 30 days).
Dressily Me had very good reviews as well, so I sent them the same email and was more then surprised that they answered the next day – 225 $ for my dress (a combination of dress 4208 and 4105) – incredible.
Following a chronology of the order processing:
2011-08-02: I sent my first request to Dressily Me
2011-08-03: I got the answer, the price and a color chart
2011-08-07: I made my official order and payed
2011-08-25: The dress was ready. They sent me some pictures
2011-08-31: The order was shipped
2011-09-02: I got the shipment
And now here are some pictures:
After the dress was ready, they sent me some pictures and asked to check them:

A screenshot of the DHL express service:

The shipment arrived:

The dress fits perfecty:

How much was it altogether:
- Wedding dress: 225,00 $
- Petticoat: 8,41 $
- Dress for civil marriage: 103,04 $
- Flowergirl dress: 64,80 $
- Some flowers fort he hair: 11,35 $
- Shipment via DHL express: 76,50 $
- tax on items imported: 48,97 $
= 538,07 $
At least I can only say that Dressily Me is highly recommended. And by the way: Till this day I've heard anything about Milly Bridal.
Yes, I bought all from dressilyme. The dresses are all custom made - they fit perfect.
The flowergirl dress has spagetti straps - at the back, they are only sewed lightly, so one can modify the length.
The only thing, I really don't like is the petticoat. It looks very simple and cheap. I think, I don't wear it.
From the dress for civil marriage I don't have pictures, but here is the picture from the dressily-homepage:

I bought it in a nude-look - slight apricot.
And here are some pictures of the flowergirl-dress:

By the way - I often read that the dresses smell very bad. I can't support this. The only thing one can mention is that the dresses are rumpled (especially the flowergirl dress). But I think they can be ironed and then look great.
Hi cripsy, I read about the bad smell on other homepages. My dresses didn't smell. Like adw2c writes, they were scentless. View this review from another woman for example :
http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/my-dressilyme-dress-review-pic-heavy
Agreed! My dresses were my dream come true. No smells or issues. Everything sewn on well and strong. Packaged inside out so that there wouldn't be a stain on the outside. No wrinkles but that may have been due to my material. Yep, happiness all around.
I don't know my style number but mine was Aspen by Maggie Sottero and Natasha by Maggie Sottero. All were made in that inspiration. They did a great job!
@Zaubermaus: looks great!!!!!
Sorry I haven't posted since I ordered; life gets in the way sometimes!
Here's what happened with the extra charge for custom sizes. I emailed the sales team for a quote on Monday, August 29, and they let me know that it was good for five days. I ordered it on September 2nd, within the five days. They didn't tell me that on September 1st, the charge for custom sizes went into effect! I emailed them, and they said I could choose an accessory to make up for it (from a certain selection). After I looked on the website, they were running a sale that said "buy a wedding dress, get an accessory" so I didn't really get that $15 back; the highest accessory available was for $7, and I was eligible for that anyway.
I decided that I'm getting a dress for very little, and I need to let it go. I chose a veil as my accessory, even though I'm not wearing one, with the intent of selling it immediatly, so I should recoup the darn $15 after all.
ANYWAY, I also got the dress pictures back, and approved it, and it should ship today!! Let me gather them up with the originals, and I'll put them in a separate post. And I'll check WB more often from now on :P

Overall, I am pretty happy with it. I ordered Ivory Taffeta, and it looks pretty white to me, but we'll see when it gets here. Also I was a little annoyed that the buttons don't have loops on the other side of the zipper to cover the zipper; they said that these are just decorative and the loops are not needed. They also said that the mannequin is bigger than me, so they weren't able to zip it all the way, and that's also why the zipper looks more visible. So, I guess we'll just see when it gets here!! I'm trying to stay positive, because after all, the marriage matters more than silly button loops! My mom said I can just wear a veil after all if I'm still unhappy with the zipper situation when it gets here. The countdown begins!!!
@amber Solis: I honestly have no idea. I guess we'll see when it gets here, and live with it, whatever it is!
@DesignGal55: Sewing some hooks or something to make the buttons lay flat over the zipper might be an easy fix at alterations time, if you were going to do that. It looks lovely!
