I had a great experience with Ebay seller: Shank77. I bought my dress custom from her. Here's a review:
Catwalk Bridal Creations
Sara (Ebay seller ID = shank077)
I love, love, love my dress. It is a Jim Hjelm replica that I ordered custom made from Ebay seller shank077 (Sara of Catwalk Bridal Creations). I was hesitant to order my dress online because of the stories of poor quality dresses coming from Asia. If you look at some of those auction pages, the seller's lack of command of the English language is enough to scare you away. Sara, however, was completely professional. She did the pre-screening of quality gown makers and acted as a liason in communicating my requests (and I had many!). The only slight problem I had was the ~3-week delay in receiving my dress. Apparently it did not meet her standard so she had it sent back to be tweaked. The dress was also held up in customs, which was out of her control. I started to grow concerned but Sara kept me in the loop with updates and tracking numbers. She offered to give me a refund on the shipping costs for the delay although the price was fair to begin with. Other than the shipping delay, everything was excellent. Sara was an absolute pleasure to work with.
I had a HORRIBLE experience with this seller!!! I ordered my dress from her and the very poorly finished final product, which I received 3 months late, was NOTHING like what we agreed upon in the purchase order. As she became later and later and I pointed out things that were incorrect with the dress, she became more and more out of touch. She did promise me a partial refund, but she never gave it to me!!!! I ended up paying over $600 to another seamstress to make the dress I originally ordered from Sara. What a rip off!!! Not worth it!
If you're in the Colorado Springs area, I do HIGHLY recommend the seamstress who fixed my dress: Maureen at Designing Advantage. She gave me the product and customer service and then some that I would expect from any reputable business.
@Hnou: The website address isn't even proper english....i'd be wary. Keep looking for reviews, as you often get what you pay for with these sites. There's a ton of threads with brides who have been scammed by similar sites. It's so easy to just change your domain name and continue ripping people off if people have spread the word about getting scammed....

Is anyone familiar with dressmake4u? Its supposedly a custom make dress manufacturer that can duplicate designer gowns for cheap. I LOVE Melissa Sweet, but don't want to pay $4,000 on the dress-- that's not even including the alterations that might be needed. I've found the dress on craigslist and everything for about $1,000 or so less, but with alterations it might end up being just as much as the original dress.
With www.dressmake4u.com I know it's only about $500 for the entire dress that would be "custom made" but I don't want to fork that over if in the end it doesn't work out well and I could spend that $500 on a different dress...
