I have been going to a lady named Kay Warnke in Canton for a few years anytime I need alterations done on bridesmaid dresses. She will also be doing the alterations on my wedding dress in a few weeks.
I've never had anything made from scratch by her but I do know she does custom apparel. It may be worth chatting with her.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an area dressmaker? I'm looking to have a pretty simple short party dress made for my wedding next summer but haven't had any luck finding what I want in stores or online. I'm in Ann Arbor but would be willing to drive a ways for the right person (and the right dress!)
