technically you guys are paying for it and depending on the state, minors cannot purchase liquor.  could cause some problems for the venue, unless they host an outside of the wedding, totally seperate from your event & costs, cash bar for guests.

but again, it depends on the venue & the state.

SoonToBeeMartinez:  Is it in your budget to have alcohol at the wedding? If so, some of your guests might appreciate it! Or even just a beer and wine option. If it’s not in your budget, I wouldn’t worry about it in the first place!

As far as fun beverages for everyone underage, I think italian soda stations are so fun! If your wedding is in the winter, you could also do a hot chocolate station with white, milk, and dark chocolates, different whipped creams, and marshmallows, sprinkles, etc.

Being twice your age (oh Lord!), when I go to a wedding I expect to be able to have a glass of wine at least, regardless of who is paying for it. My vote is to offer both types of beverages.

The bartenders can proof your guests and take the heat if underaged folks are trying to buy.

SoonToBeeMartinez:  I think it’s always better to have both if you can. But don’t feel forced to if you can’t afford it.
