We're putting together small tote bags with local information and coupons inside.  For food we're staying simple and local with Moon Pies and Little Debbies, but the only local drink I know of is Double Cola.  Coke was first bottled in Chattanooga and those new mini-cans are pretty cute.  Any other suggestions for drinks?  And we're thinking one tote per couple with two drinks, and one drink for singles.  Should we go with a diet option and a regular option?  Or should we just chuck the flavored drink or soda idea and go with water?  Also for price, I'd really like to stay around $1 per bottle or can.

I'd do a water and a soft drink :o) We're just doing waters in our OOT bags, but that's mainly because we're having the wedding in Arizona in August = aka we're afraid of dehydration.

I would do one regular soda and one bottle of water. Unless you know each of your guests extremely well, there isn't anyway to tell how many folks drink diet.

We are just doing bottled water and juice boxes (for the ones who have children) but I like the pop and water option.

What about RC Cola or Nehi Grape or Peach? Those are my favorites!

p.s. I'm from Murphy, NC and my uncle lives in the Cleveland area Laughing

Thanks for the replies!  We might do an RC or a Coke bottle and a water.  I was raised a diet Coke drinker, so its hard to not include that, but I realize water's probably the safer bet.

Just a tip:  Did you check with your hotel?  Mine is super strict about the goodies/drinks I include in the OOT bags--something about it not being brands that they already stock in their mini fridges? Just sharing a not-cool hurdle that I hadn't been expecting.

I personally don't drink pop so I would prefer if there was a water in the OOT tote!

@Virginia, while I can understand that from the hotel's view as they do make money from the stuff in their fridges, how will they even have any clue what you are putting in the bags unless they rummage through them?

@Selene--I think it's a matter of principle!  I know I want to do things on the up and up, I'm sure we all do! Not to mention, some OOT 'bags' are actually baskets, and everything is visible. I would hate to have made all of my 80 OOT baskets and not known the hotel policy!  It's no big deal really--I just couldn't include coke products.  But who knows, maybe all hotels aren't as strict.  It's just a heads up.
