Lately, I have been spending more time “on the road”. A few weeks ago, my sister called late at night and said she had an accident at work (passed out and fell on some crates, leaving a gash on her head). I raced to the hospital 70 miles away to be with her–leaving my sleeping hubby in bed. (He knew I was leaving).
After that situation cleared up, my hubby came to me and said his ear had been bothering him for days and that he couldn’t hear out of it. We went to the doc 3 days later. It was a serious skin infection that the doc said COULD turn into Staph! He stayed out of work for 3 days we went back and forth to the doc several times and I had to drive. I was soo worried! Lucky for us, he is now feeling much better.
Just yesterday I went to my doctor for a chronic issue that I have. The doc is in the same town as where my sister went to the hospital. I don’t go very often at all due to the distance. After a day of driving I am feeling like I am always driving here and there and that my hubby might be feeling a little neglected. I don’t mind driving when I’m alone, but I can’t stand to drive with my hubby as a passenger. I get nervous like I’m in Driver’s Ed again. When we do go out together, he drives–which I’m fine with–just a little too fast for my tastes. lol.
Do any other bees feel this way? When does “life” settle down for you?

@mrs.sunshine: I love to drive, but it’s probably because I only drive on the weekends. So for me driving = fun. I love my husband, but I hate driving while he’s in the car because he becomes my unofficial (and mostly unwanted) GPS complete with commands like ‘watch this guy!’, ‘speed up!’, ‘slow down!’ ‘make this turn!’. Talk about annoying! Needless to say he usually drives when we’re going somewhere together.
I’m sorry to hear about all the health issues surrounding your loved ones. I hope they feel better soon!

I am really use to driving especially with all my friends living in another town and one of my doctors being in a town 3.5 hours away from where I am currently living. But it does get tiring. Maybe when I am able to move to where all my friends are it will be easier but for now I do the driving since it is easier for little me to come to them then they come to me since there is roughly 12+ in our group.

PinkPandaBear Thanks for your concern! Hubby and sister and now doing great, thankfully! I enjoy driving too. At times I find myself doing it just so I can have a little free time away from the house (we live in the sticks, seriously.) Not much to do unless you drive 30 minutes into town.

I also let him “drive” I feel like I am in Driver’s Ed class too! Funny… but he makes it so by commenting on stuff. He says: Watch out for… I say: Yes dear, I did see that! Grumble, grumble…

RoxanneV I had a serious car accident 3 years ago and I STILL get iffy about driving myself at times, but you gotta do whatcha gotta do! Most of that is why I let him drive. He knows this town better then I do and he drives a truck and so everyone moves out of the way for him, but NOT for me. Sometimes I just flat out don’t want to drive (like in the rain) so It’s nice to have someone else do the driving. 🙂

Glad everyone is okay.
I don’t mind driving but I hate traffic!
