    I don’t care what the trends say, I’ll wear whatever I like.

    I don’t have a ballgow, but I love that my dress isn’t a mermaid like everyone else out there. I think you’re rocking that dress and should keep it if it makes you happy.

    I don’t have any pictures, sorry.

    You look beautiful in your dress. I’d think you were crazy if you started doubting the beauty of that dress and how great you look in it just because so many brides wear mermaid dresses.

    Ball gowns have been around for a very, very long time, hundreds of years, so I doubt they will be going out of style any time soon. They are classic.

    OP, your dress is gorgeous. Look at the tiny little waist it gives you and those curves!

    @misslineman:  You look gorgeous!  Don’t cave to trends…wear what you love and the gown that stole your heart.  I’ve been to four weddings over the past 18 months and ALL four brides wore mermaids.  By wedding #3 FI said, “Isn’t that the same gown X and Y both wore?”   It is a lovely silhouette on many women (truly, every bride I’ve seen in one looked stunning), but someday when your kids ask you why you chose your gown, do you really want to say, “Well that was the popular style when Dad and I got married”?  I love your gown and I vote you stick to your guns! 🙂

    @misslineman:  WHAAAAAAAAT?

    That is the exact reason i DID NOT want a mermaid! I don’t want to look like every other 2013 bride! No one else will have a dress like mine! I believe ballgowns are like a Tiffany solitaire– classic, gorgeous, and 100% bridal. My dress will hold up 50 years from now!

    Your dress is AMAZING! Who is the designer?
