Well, last night was interesting. I’ve learned a lot of lessons in my life: #1 People talk about everything when they’re drunk, and #2 What they SAY when they’re drunk is always questionable (and hilarious). Take for instance last night. J and I went out with some friends for some drinks. I didn’t drink at all because I haven’t been feeling well lately. But J had a few. Ok, he had more than a few. One of our friends is an accountant and somehow we got talking about taxes. I wasn’t really paying attention until J turned to me and said, “you didn’t hear that, by the way”. I asked him to explain, and he said that by next tax season (April 2012) we won’t have to worry about living as ‘common law’ anymore. He just looked at me like… ‘You know exactly what I’m talking about’. I kinda laughed, and said: “Ya… We’re gonna plan a wedding in 6 months? Ok sweety.” He just winked. It was a pretty funny conversation, but I hate the fact that he can bring it up when he’s had a few drinks (timelines) and then doesn’t when he hasn’t had a drink.
I hate when guys talk like this when they’re been drinking. Anyone else experience this… Where their guys open up a little more after having a few drinks?

Hmmm no, not really happened to me. Though people obviously open up when drunk, I tend to be drunk when my SO is and then we just argue about it which isn’t something I want to do. But you’re the one who knows for sure he’s proposing as he told your family, right? So maybe he just doesn’t know how long it takes to plan a wedding. Or maybe he thinks you’ll get married some time within that tax year so it won’t matter as much (meaning you’d just have to get marrie dbefore April 2013).

OMG story of my life. I am engaged now, but for like a year before he proposed that happened. Get a couple drinks in him and BAM “I’m gonna make you the happiest girl in the world!” “I’m gonna marry you and it’s gonna be awesomeeeee”
At first it was cute, then it got SO annoying. Like…PROPOSE! He was such a slop, ha! It’s better now 😉

ahahaha I totally understand this!
My SO has done this for YEARS. Tres annoying and agree wtih PinkandSparkly, if you’re so darn happy to discuss after a beer or 4, then do something about it!
But I’m so exited for you it can’t be long now, whenwhenwhen?!

Ha, I wish he only did it when he was drunk sometimes. I’m so glad that he does want to marry me and is excited about it, but it hurts when he brings up something “exciting” and then nothing happens.

Ugh when my SO would get drunk… he would be like “why do you even WANT to get married… why do we NEED a piece of paper!?” Ugh, I wanted to punch him in the face for saying that stuff haha.
