Four months after our wedding, and my wedding dress is still hanging on the back of our living room door.  As soon as I get it cleaned and boxed up, I can finally take it over to FMIL's for storage.

Anyone have recs for a good wedding dress cleaner/preserver in Greenpoint/North Williamsburg (where I live), or around Gramercy Park/Union Square (where I work).  I prefer not to drag my hiuge dress all over the city.  Anyone know what the going rate for dress cleaning is?  My dress is silk satin, with a ton of intricate beading/embroidery, so I don't want to cleap pit on getting it cleaned, but I don't want to pay exhorbinate amounts of money to get it cleaned and boxed up either.

On a semi related note, I also have a cocktail dress with a beaded neckline that I need to get cleaned.  My local dry cleaner didn't want to take responsibility for cleaning it, since they said their machines may crush the beading. Any recs?  Again, I'd prefer to stay in the neighborhoods listed above, but since this dress is light and easily transportable, I'd be open to other place in Manhattan.

In this list of cleaners from NY Mag, there are two in the Union Square area.  One is Chris French, which is my regular cleaners, and they do a good job, not sure what the comment about is the service (or why they're calling the guy French, it's not a name). They have successfully done beaded sweaters of mine. There are always plenty of wedding gown bags hanging up in the front so I get the impression they do good volumes there, but not having had my wedding yet I can't comment on that service in particular.

They also recommend Meurice, which I've read good things about on Yelp.
