We did a semi-dual bachelor/bachelorette party during a vacation to Vegas. We brought our close friends, along on the trip. One night we all went to dinner together, saw Zumanity, then had some drinks as a group in one of our hotel suites. After that the boys went to the strippers, and the girls hit the VIP section at Pure Nightclub.
It actually worked out awesome!
We've definitely been considering this. I don't think there's anything wrong with it and it'd be a lot of fun to relax with all of our friends together! We'd probably do something low-key like a wine tasting class that would make everyone happy.
We're totally doing it in 2 weeks! We are packing up all of our friends, some boats, and heading out to a super fun lake for the weekend! The BM and MOH are in charge of food and beverages, and everyone is encouraged to bring their significant other. Neither of us wanted the stereotypical bachelor/ette party, with the strippers and penises and such...so we opted for this utterly awesome alternative. We'll both be much happier at the end of the weekend, I am sure ;)
Yes, FI are doing a joint Bachelor-Bachelorette Party. We are friends with a lot of couples, so this way everyone can come celebrate together. We are doing a booze cruise- complete with DJ, appetizers, and of course- booze. We are really excited and hope everyone just has a great time!
My friends did this and it turned out awesome! I wouldn't have minded doing this at all :) but my FH and I already have our seperate parties planned with our friends.
When I was married before, we did a joint party. We did our own things during the afternoon and for dinner, then met up at our regular bar for drinks, dancing, and karaoke. It was fun and actually a really good way to get new people to mingle.
I read about a couple doing a joint party together and they had a boys against girls scavenger hunt - which to me would be the funnest thing ever!! However my sisters are on a Kitchen Tea mission and the Fella has decided he wants a football grand final party as his bucks. So that should be cool.... although a scavenger hunt WOULD be fun! LOL
I want to do something like this. It will probably just be us and all of our friends at a dive bar or something.
Can I just say that from a standpoint of a lot of friends have done this...I am NOT doing this. LOL Yes, we are already married and yes, we still plan to do the bachelor/ette parties before our "wedding/vow renewal"
Our friends got married last summer and had a joint party, it just wasn't as fun. It was like any other party our friends throw. A bonfire, drinking and a bunch of idiotic friends. It would have been more fun to take the bride out to the bar and be silly, we just can't do that with our group of guy friends around.
I vote do what is best for you, I just really want to have a good time AWAY from my hubby.
My FI and I are going to do a semi-joint bach and bachelorette party. Both are golf themed (guys really golfing and girls are just going putt-putting) in the afternoon. Then doing a 9 hole bar hop and meeting up near the end of the night since majority of us are friends and hang out together.
We'll be doing it! We both were so over strippers and that insanity. We just wanted to get together with our adult wedding party and just have fun. So we've rented a really nice home in Wisconsin Dells (waterpark capitol of the world lol) for a weekend. This house that comes through one of the waterpark resorts is awesome...6 bedrooms, rec room in the basement, swimming pool, 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, jacuzzi and some other stuff I can't remember. Anywho, we can't wait!!
I also vote for separate, but my BF did a joint party. We went to dinner with the girls to a dueling piano bar...and then met up with the guys at a club. It was fun, but seemed less like a bachelorette party. I don't think a bachelorette party needs penises necessarily, but it needs lots of girl-time.
I think a joint bachelor(ette) party would be great for some people, but maybe not so much for others! I personally will be doing a separate bachelorette party...I have to agree with Miss Lily on this one - I don't want it to seem like an "any old weekend" party. I definitely feel that it is a time to be silly and crazy with the girls! My FI will probably go paint balling and/or golfing followed by a BBQ (he isn't into the whole stripper thing). I would love to do something like pole or belly dance lessons with a nice dinner and then a night out dancing/singing! I think it is a great way to just let go and be a girl without all the guys around!
But hey! If that isn't your thing, then go for the joint party! It could be a blast and everyone may be happier at the end of it all. So if that is what you want to do...go for it!
I went to one, when I was a BM. Personally, I thought it was a nice idea. We went ice skating, then dinner and then out to the clubs. She and the groom-to-be had such a better time, IMO, since they were together. but neither he nor she were interested in having a strip club bachelor party experience.
I'm going to one in August and I'm pretty excited... the bride and groom's friends don't know each other at all, so it'll be fun to party with his friends before the wedding.
We aren't doing bachelor/ bacherolette parties at all.... instead we are doing a family bowling night. This is a second wedding for both of us and we wanted to involve our children (ages 9, 11,13 and 15) in everything... after the wedding day, we plan to have a "family moon" - we are staying at a local hotel, going to play laser tag and the movies :)
We are doing a Jack and Jill as well. We have 13 rooms at a lake resort in Austin. We don't go out very much partying normally so this won't be the same ol weekend for us. We are planning on doing a guys go golf and the girls do the spa and we will meet up for dinner and drinks and a party boat the following day.
We are also doing a family moon! We are taking my 2.5 year old daughter on a carribean cruise for 8 days with us after the wedding!
We are not doing this, but I had a friend who did somewhat did this years ago. We all shared the limo, but the guys went their way and we went ours.
We are doing ours in 17 days! We are heading out to Vegas with our bridal party where we will check out freemont street ( Zipling) one night..... the next it's bottle service @ Moon and Limo and the last night like a little mini moon ( just us) complete with a helicopter ride over the strip, Mystere, Dinner @ Mix and a witchdoctor from Voodoo. I am so excited.
Besides that we will have our own individual parties back home since my MOH will have her baby with her in Vegas
My FI and I are doing this. He has 2 kids from a previous marriage so it's nearly impossible that we get a night out with each other to just let loose so we decided we wanted our parties to be combined. We currently live in FI's hometown and my hometown is about 25-30 away and our wedding is halfway between those 2 places. Anyways we were talking last night about what we wanted to do and FI came up with the best idea ever! We want to do a scavengar hunt but were lost about how to do it, so FI came up with the idea that we make up a list of a bunch of places that are meaningful to us together and separate and that we do a Girls vs Boys hunt of sorts. We will have our high schools, first date place, where we worked together, ceremony, reception site, and other places that are meaningful to us and we have to take a picture of the entire group at that place or with those things. At the end of the hunt we are going to meet up at a local bar and see who came up with the most points (all items on the list will have points, the further away things more points but a little harder to do). That night we are going to have everyone over to our house for bean bag games, bocce ball, a campfire, volleyball and a potluck and just hang out and enjoy some beverages. I am so excited!!
We are also doing a jack and jill weekend in Miami. My FI and I are going on Thursday and will be staying through Monday and we anticipate maybe 6-8 other couples coming with us so it should be fun:)
We are doing one... The night before the wedding we are having anyone that made it to vegas to see us get married go drunken bowling then to freemont street for some fun.. Way easier this way.

My FI were considering doing one together to save on money, plus we have a number of people in the party that are out of town. Has anyone done one? What kinds of things did you do?
