YES! this is what me and my guy are dealing with. we're in an ldr as well and we've been going back and forth on where to live. he doesn't want to stay where he's at and is open to moving wherever but wants it to be fair for the both of us, meaning that i should be open to moving as well, except i'm not too hot on the idea of moving from california [i moved my entire life thanks to the us army so i'm over it and it's hard for me to think of leaving again].
we had it figured out that he would move to cali because i had my job in my dream industry and am finishing up grad school so i'm pretty much stuck in cali. then i was laid off and now apparently have a degree of freedom in location so negotiations are back on with new cities and states tossed into the mix. i agreed that i wouldn't complain but ugh, i really don't want to leave cali; sure its not the awesome state that it once was but i love it so! lol. so ini the end we're both now looking for work. sigh. it's tough.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I'm in my last year of grad school and on the academic job market, and my FI is applying to grad schools now. Having done long distance for more years than I'd like to think about, we're really ready to live in the same city! But making that happen is no easy task - so many stressful conversations, weighing different options and locations, and hoping the timelines for learning about opportunities line up.
It's so intense! Is anyone else dealing with this?
