I’ve never seen the show but I was sooo sick of people on facebook harping on about “Free Speech!” and hwo the guy getting briefly removed was an “attack on Christianity”

Freedom of Speech =/= Freedom from Consequences. If I told my employeer that I wrote an article saying hateful ignorant things about a specific gender, sexual orientation or race, they would have EVERY RIGHT to fire my ass.

@BrideToBe14:  I guess I don’t see the difference between shows like this and shows on MTV that teach young kids that it is perfectly acceptable to be doing things at a young age. Difference in views, sure… but I don’t think this show is any worse for our country. Infact, I think shows like this are better

Um Phil went to college also, and turned down the NFL to start this company.  He was clean shaven and the starting Quarterback for LSU, Terry Bradshaw was his backup quarterback.

How do you know it’s 100% scripted?  It’s probably no more scripted than any other reality show out there.

and you actually said …. “the gays” that’s a bit offensive.  There has been several threads already about this….. issue has been resolved and Phil is back on TV.  He doesn’t judge other people he leaves that up to God… it’s not his place to judge.

@BrideToBe14:  Ugh. What makes me really sad is that millions of people buy in to this crap… and like it. I’ve never watched the show and I don’t intend to. I don’t see what the appeal is… like why would people even look up to them? It’s cool to be redneck now? wtf?

@BrideToBe14:  I don’t think this or any show is ruining our children or our country. I think parents need to come to reality and realize that they need to teach their kids right from wrong, and they also have control over what those children watch until they’re at a point where they know right from wrong. As far as adults, they’re responsible for their own actions. They SHOULD know what right from wrong is now, and if they’re stupid enough to be influenced by a TV show, then they’d be influenced by anything, just because they’re stupid.

I’m just tired of hearing people say “Miley Cyrus ruined my child!! This TV show is ruining America!!” No, America is ruining America, and you (general, obviously, I have no idea if you even have kids haha) need to get off your lazy ass and actually parent your child, instead of sitting it in front of a TV and hoping media will do it for you.

Raaaaaaaaaghhhh end of rant lol.

@abc123joanna:  exactly. I can think of plenty more worse shows and worse things in general. Guess what, at the end of the day they are making money and supporting their families. They have a huge following that watch regularly and buy their products. Good for them for thinking up a way to market themselves that would yield tons of money.

FTR I don’t like the show at all But I don’t see why someone would be upset that they are “yuppy frat guys posing” as something else. So what.

Basically the same as any other reality show, not any wores than Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, or any of the Kardashian nonsense.  Not that I think those shows are really great for anyone either, but not any worse.  I don’t see much harm in these shows as long as people see them for what they are: Silly, mindless entertainment.

@BrideToBe14:  also, you said: “But somehow he has the right to tear other people apart for the way they live?”

…but you have the right to judge how they live? They’re surviving and making money. Shit, if I made as much money as they do, I’d be doing it, too. You’re judging just as much as they’re judging.

“LOOK AT THEIR WIVES…You think those women would of married them looking like that”

do I even need to comment on this one?

@BrideToBe14:  Seriously? Tons of people change throughout their lives and many change specifically for their careers. Honestly you are coming across as really judgmental (their wives couldn’t possibly be attracted to them because of how they look….really??!?). To pick this one show out and say it is terrible for our country is astonishing to me.
