I just read up on the ARD program:
http://www.duiarresthelp.com/dui-ard-program.php
These sentences jumped out at me: "If you complete the required conditions of the ARD program, the criminal DUI charges against you will be dropped. It will be as if you were never charged with DUI and you’ll have a clear record."
If I was charged with a DUI, I would do *anything* to get it off of my record. That sort of thing can impact job applications in the future...
It would definitely be worth it to me to pay a lawyer to get back into ARD! Plus it sounds like it would help your FI might then feel like he has some control over his life, which would help his depression.
Good luck to both of you!!

Here's the deal:
January 2009 Cam got a DUI. He was 20 at the time (his birthday is in March d'oh) and blew a .082. Go figure, huh?
He did his community service and even started attending ARD until I got really sick in May and he missed an ARD to take me to the hospital. He was then told he couldn't make it up.
Is it worth it for us to pay for a lawyer to try to get him back into ARD? Or should he just deal and wait for the courts to actually give him a court date (anytime soon would be great) so he can find out how long he'll be in jail, the court fees/extra fines he'll have, how long he'll lose his license, and how long he'll be on probation(the thing keeping him from going into the army).
He has been pretty depressed lately ... sleeps alot ... and I know alot of it is because he feels like he's going nowhere right now as the courts pull him around. So, any advice bees?
