I know I should probably know the answer to this, but for some reason I don't. I feel like we don't wear the engagement ring on our wedding day, is that right? Or do we wear it on our right hand or something? Maybe I made that up. Also, I don't even know which order the rings are supposed to go on your hand. I feel like I see it different ways on different people. Don't laugh haha. Any help....

Engagement ring goes on 2nd.  I will be wearing mine on my right hand as I walk down the aisle.

Typically, you wear the wedding band first on your finger...closer to your heart.  Which means that you probably wouldn't wear the engagement ring that day, unless you wore it on your other hand.  Since you'd have to take it off to get the wedding ring on and then put it back on.

I think that it's your choice.

That's not a dumb question - there were several posts that expressed varying opinions/options.  You can wear the engagement ring on your wedding day if you wish.  If you do, a lot of people wear it on their right hand during the ceremony.  Then afterwards, they move it over to the left hand, where it sits on top of the wedding band.

Others might keep the engagement ring on their left hand, put the wedding band on top during the ceremony, then switch the order afterwards.

Traditionally, IF you wear both rings on the same hand, the weddingband is underneath, because it is "closer to your heart" that way.  But I will be wearing the engagement ring on my right hand and my wedding band on my left.

In the end, I think it's a matter of personal preference.

I wore my engagement ring all day on my wedding day. I wore it on my left hand during the ceremony and my husband just put my wedding band on and I switched them after the ceremony.

You can really do it however you like or feel comfortable. It was important for me to keep my ring on my left hand, so I did! Now I wear my wedding band first (some say "closest to your heart") and then my engagement ring. It also makes it convenient if I want to slip off my engagement ring and just wear the band.

I wore my e-ring and DH placed my wedding band on top. then when we had a few seconds, we just put them in the right order. I have 2 wedding bands though. and my e-ring doesn't fit my right hand.

I will probably wear my E-ring on my right hand, but that's because it's what my mom did.

This isn't a dumb question.  I think we've all done different things, so just whatever works for you on the day.  I personally wore my engagement ring on my right hand during the ceremony and just switched it over afterwards.

I think it depends on what you want to do, you arent obligated to do one certain thing.  I wore my e-ring on my right and after the ceremony I changed it to my left hand, above my band.

I plan to wear mine during the ceremony on my left hand because I wear my Aggie Ring on my right hand and very seldom do I take it off.  I will just rotate them around after the ceremony is done.  If I remember! LOL

If I remember,... I plan to wear mine on my right hand just before going down the isle. Then slipping it on correct hand afterwards or maybe Mr. Sunbeam can move it back for me:)

Oh good point, ejs. I never thought of it before, but I just tried and my engagement ring doesn't fit on my right hand, so it looks like that option is out for me! lol

Thanks for you help and input everyone. I think I'll have to wear my e-ring on my left hand cause it doesn't fit my right.
