I voted on a stick because I think they are cool, and it is what you think of when you think “Masquerade” but to be honest if I got one a stick it would probably sit on my table all night, becuase I would want my hands free.

I would prefer the masks on the stick…. the mask with an elastic band bring back too many traumatic memories of boys snapping the elastic bands at halloween from all the girls costumes.  Also….nobody would have to worry about their hair getting messed up with the mask on a stick (this would be a huge problem with my mom, aunts, etc!!!)

Good Luck, sounds like a great idea.  I am sure your guests will have a great time!

I agree that the ones on a stick look cooler, but after awhile having to hold it up would be a PITA. So if you want just a few pics with people holding up the mask, then go with that. But if you want people to have them on all night, then go with the tie on.

I would prefer the stick option because I am claustrophobic and wouldn’t want anything that close to my face or blocking my vision.

@Corilee13  Ohhh – ribbons would look so nice – good idea!!!  I don’t think they would mess up the hair that much because they wouldn’t be as tight as those bloody elastic bands!!

I think your ribbon idea just made me change my vote! Now I am sad that I have to wait till August 2012 to see pictures of your guests wearing them!!!

I would prefer the stick because I wouldn’t want it on continually. But maybe you could do some of each?

You could also add some ribbon to the stick ones 🙂

I THINK originally people used sticks or ribbon because elastic wasn’t used.  Sticks were the prevalient ones, though.

Also, I love this idea and it reminds me of Ever After: A Cinderella story (or is it tale?) The one with Drew Berrymore!!!

Ditto onthe don’t mess up my hair, and the more aurhentic. I voted for a mask on a stick. I wouldn’t wear it all night, but I’d probably never wear the elastic one.
