You should check out some of Williams Sonoma sister brands – Pottery Barn (including Pottery Barn Teen) and West Elm.  I bet their fabric softness is similar with different patterns.  I have a PB duvet cover that I think is super soft – it’s the ruched white one.

Good luck!

@Meowkers:  That’s totally the one I was talking about 🙂  I have it in white.  It’s like sleeping in a giant cloud.

I got a 1500 thread count Egyptian Cotton duvet cover (its plain, but it comes in a bunch of colors) off of amazon for like $40! It’s suuuuuper soft and I love it even more because it was suuuuper cheap haha

@KatieColorado:  that’s exactly how DH and I described it.  Like sleeping in a cloud.

I’ll be checking out Pottery Barn!  I have one from Walmart I like, but last time I checked there was only one style in a few colours and it was not soft.  A rough duvet cover actually caused a flareup of my psoriasis, so I need a soft one!

I have struck out at HO, the Bay, Sears, and BB&B.

I wish I didn’t have to go so expensive though!  $215 is a little much for just a duvet cover.

Mine is from the Shimmer Collection by Martha Stewart.  I got it at Macys.  The top has a sparkle pattern so its no super soft, but underneath oh goodness, is it soft.

Try bamboo instead of cotton.  We have a set of bamboo sheets and they are even softer than our 1000 thread count cotton ones.

@FutureMrsJohnson_:  Do you have a link to the duvet you bought?? I am super curious 🙂 FI loves soft things and we need a new duvet on a budget!

@Britt_RN: +1

I second Ikea! You have to check, some have higher thread counts than others. And the one I’ve had the longest (and washed the most) is super soft.
