- Wedding: November 2012
Ok bees I am in quite the quandary for my Destination Wedding. Other than the fact I haven’t booked my room yet, I haven’t the slightest idea which option to use. So I’d appreciate the advice.
As the happy couple we will be receiving 2 free nights during our stay plus 15% off the rest. I assume this is only when booking through the hotel, correct? I am so accustomed to booking everything packaged together on my own. If I use a 3rd party will I get this perk? My gut says no.
I’m an avid traveller and am just so used to doing things one way that I am not sure what is the best option.
Little bit of background:
-Wedding is in Las Vegas in December
-I work for an airline and with that I have more options.
-We intend to pay for our seats so that we dont risk getting bumped, its our
wedding after all. I get a 10% discount on retail priced flights as an
employee. I get a 15% off full priced packages. I also get a 10% discount on
hotels solely through expedia.
-Prices I have guestimated through my research (prices from today):
-Booking lodging thru hotel: ~900 Full priced flights ~1000
-Booking hotel thru expedia: ~1000 + full priced flight
-Package thru employer: ~1300
It is farr too early to book flights for december. I know this. I am really trying to figure out what the best route is, for my wallet and the whole trip. Flight prices will usually drop after everyones summer vacations are all planned out so more than likely it will be another 2-3 months before we book.
Sidenote: We never pursued any travel agent because I did not want to force my guests to stay at a particular hotel or commit very early in the process.
Thanks for your help!
